Married or living with someone very dear to you who continually suffers from an irrevsersible and debilitating disease can be quite emotionally draining and physically exhausting for the caretaker. The incapacitated victim is neither able to protect nor to fend for themselves because they are the very mercy of whoever surrounds them. Only prescribed medications to treat the unfortunate casualty can be relied on. All kinds of horrendous thoughts will always the haunt the desperate human mind of the functionary.
Well, this is Jordan, the fervent wife of a former chemical engineer: Kyle; her husband has succumbed to the corroding process of Parkinson's disease. Within his heyday, he could figure out and manage any problem that came his way. He was one of the few who was in the Top 5 of his class through his highest level of education; yet he has been unlawfully reduced to a cripple who’s lost the ability to count. It seems that Life is cruel journey that had never shown any sympathy for diligence.
Fortunately for Jordan, she had some emotional as well as professional. Her widowed friend Dr. Riley Vesperstum had been a platonic colleague of her husband’s medical practices. Her controversial temperament had consisted of arguing about inanimate subjects as well as being deeply caring towards her fellow humans. Her amiable relationship with Jordan’s husband had been more like sibling rivalery than animosity. The differences of opinions had always reached the same goals by various routes. Her closeness to Jordan was more emotional than friendship. Riley had been a dedicated ally to Jordan. She had never hesitated to show up at a moment’s notice to help Jordan, out.
Simultaneously, Jordan had to also deal with a roach problem in the basement of her house. Since Kyle has become immobilized, this infestation had become a secondary issue to deal with. Weaknesses in the foundation had been regrettably unseen and neglected. Any house renovations had to be temporarily put on hold until Kyle’s situation was more suitable to manage around with. While Kyle had been administered with a strong sedative by Riley to have him fall asleep faster and make him feel more comfortable. Kyle would be at ease for at least the next six hours.
After Riley had left the premises to attend her part-time work at a local health clinic. Jordan had to tend to the unwelcomed roach invasion down in the basement. It seems that these creatures were coming in through the deteriorating faults of the cement which had held more compromising moisture in the smallest fissures which were crucially needed by blocked and fully repaired. Having construction happen while her husband was in the same house was not a good idea if drastic fumigation would occur. It would not be a convenient outcome until she had found an availability convalescent residence to have him placed in to be better taken care of.
In the meantime, Jordan had to used some arsenic solution to carefully spread around the infected areas of the basement floor. This treatment had only been temporary had kept these intrusive insects at bay for the duration of about 8 hours at a time. She put away this poison in one cabinet on the opposite side of the kitchen where Kyle’s medication was held. Once, this task was done and Kyle was sound asleep; she had the rest of the day to herself.
When she had first married Kyle many years ago, the couple had undoubtedly religious, yet since their tested devotions to one another had clearly both been defined their limited patience; prayer and faith had simply become illusions. The very concept of ‘ relentless reality ‘ had been a lot easier to encounter rather than relying on empty and fictional hope for the needed assistance.
The preferred manner of thinking for many is called as ‘Idiosome’where the biology is an indivisible element of living matter. This is where reality can be accessed by their surrounding instabilities. Agnostic pensive humans will react and rely upon their unconscious means to keep their attention busy at all times instead of restlessly dealing with pure boredom.
For a trivial example, among the Roman era, legionnaire soldiers used to entertain themselves by crucifying prisoners by nailing them on crosses and planting them in the ground, upside down where no one was ever monitored or supervised. Their free-will had permitted their random actions to perform in order to remain content. Sometimes, when unintentional mistakes are being made by unruly haste; this is where the severe consequences of one’s actions can become very questionable in the end.
As several hours had passed while Kyle was sleeping, Jordan had taken a short nap herself in order to attain her peace of mind. Then with enough energy as her mind stays constantly busy, she got around completing the afternoon chores and finding relaxing time for herself. With a glass of wine in hand, she’s stillremains quiet under nervous tension as she uncontrollably paces around the outside landscape of the house. Like a plethorical whirlwind of scenarios swaying in her mind about her husband’s longevity; Jordan was immediately seeking some kind of respite for Kyle’s physical trauma, yet nothing was reaching to any serious objectives.
How long that she has to wait for an opening to be ready to put Kyle in remedial care? How fast was this process supposed to happen because she had felt at her wits’end. Her demanding rambunctious behavior of fully caring for her husband was taking a real toll on her physically as well as mentally. Too much alcohol and overactive mental agitation don’t mix. Irrational thinking will eventually to lead to unexpected tragedies. It’s never question of maybe, it’s a matter of when.
A sudden thought had quickly streamed into her mind to go and check on her husband’s present condition. Jordan’s brief state of intoxication had made her trip over the veranda step while she was entering the back door. Her incoherence had caused her to have a hard fall and bruised her left shoulder and her wineglass had shattered outside the house. Very little damage was done, neither the skin and nor a bone had been broken, but a dark blue agonizingcontusion that was left behind. Jordan had no time to emotional respond to her pain when she rushed into the house and in the bedroom where Kyle was sleeping.
She was horrified to find Kyle’s body lying on the floor between the bed and the window sill. She hauled and dragged his helpless frame onto the bed. Once that was done, she had noticed that Kyle’s facial skin complexion was turning into a strange blue-teal color. She had swiftly covered him him, up and reached for the phone to call Riley to quickly come over. While speaking to her, Riley had told Jordan to go and retrieve the medication that she had left for Kyle to take in case of an emergency and immediately call for an ambulance once she hung up with her.
At this time, when Riley was rushing over to Jordan’s residence; she simply had no idea that she was drinking when she phoned her. Within her mildly-drunken stupor, Jordan had difficulty remembering which cabinet had originally held the needed bottle. Once in the kitchen, she had picked the last bottle that she put away. It unfortunately was the incorrect one. The arsenic and medication contents had been seen as identical. They were both white powder substances and neither had possesses a scent.
As Kyle became conscious of his surroundings; she had unknowingly mixed the wrong powder with his serum and hurriedly asked him to drink it. Kyle drank the required concoction by thinking he would feel better; instead thirty seconds after his consumption; an atrocity had culminated. Kyle’s body was going into serious convulsion when Riley rushed through the doorway.
She saw Jordan sobbing over Kyle’s trembling body while still waiting for the ambulance arrival. Riley has disconcertingly asked her what happened. With the open bottle in her hand, Riley had swiftly read the label on the container and she couldn’t believe or comprehend Jordan’s irresponsible conduct towards her loving husband.
Once Riley caps up the bottle and smells alcohol on her Jordan’s breath; her disappointment turned to being furious. She had physically dragged Jordan into the living to sit and calm herself down while she assisted the emerging paramedics. Riley had to civilly explain to them what really happen to Kyle’s administered condition. At length, the local police had to be involved and again to properly articulate each step of this tragedy.
Kyle was pronounced officially declared deceased before leaving the residential premises by Dr. Verperstum. While police took the physician’s formal statement, utter confusion was placidly stirring in the household. Jordan had been decidedly arrested in hand-cuffs and sobered up at the hospital before she could defend herself to the stunning authorities.
Hours had passed after her police interrogation; Riley wanted to keep an open-mind to Jordan’s thoughtless actions; she unquestionably became her emotional support through her ordeal. Jordan’s turbulent account had become a tragic accident and not attempted murder because she had deeply loved her husband.
Deplorably, the police’s interpretation was not so sympathetic; it had a become a legal standpoint that occurred and not an involuntary mishap. Jordan admitting to drinking while by anxious of her late husband’s critical condition and she had inadvertently lost herself in an intoxicant and mistakenly administered her spouse the wrong substance that lead to his final demise. Like a drunk drivers who hits and kills innocent bystanders; they never seem to recover any memory of their actions. Jordan was immediately re-arrested on chargesof attempted manslaughter.
After several weeks of incarceration, Jordan was lead into a courtroom wearing the same prison garb that she had to change in the day of her final arrest. Once a court-appointed attorney was granted to her; she had firmly pleaded ‘Not Guilty ‘ without any resistance. Through this entire ordeal, her solidified story-line had never skewed out of reasoning. The prosecution had determine her carelessness to have her remain in prison as the defense had clearly describe her indubitable, yet fallible conduct to a jury of her peers.
As her legal continuance had proceeded for the entire time that Jordan was in jail; Riley had legitimately their house sealed up for municipal purposes while the subtle incubus assault had kept up on raging in the basement floor.
After a long, arduous and most engaging judiciary trial, Jordan’s virtuous credibility had stood up the court’s decision as a reluctant acquittal. Since she had no prior convictions; her uncontrollable stress and attempt mitigated actions were taken in serious considerations. Days later while walking out of court as a shamed free woman, this affliction had left her sadly stigmatized for the rest of her life because of one moment of a preventable misconduct.
What was left with her relationship with Riley had slowly dissolved into the abyss; she had never forgiven Jordan her careless demise of a dear colleague. Jordan had later sold her house at a loss and vanished into obscurity. Does anyone out there assume that Jordan had wanted to be rid of her ailing husband because she thought that he was becoming a burden to her? What were the real goals intended to reach one’s subconscious final alleviation?Does anyone think that Jordan had unexpectedlydevelop intimate feelings while treating her semi-comatosed spouse? Were her incompetent actions signs of a ‘mercy killing‘ or just her own stupidity? Did she later anticipate a romantic life with Riley? Does anyone really know what going on in Riley’s mind during this event? Nobody precisely knows anyone else, thoroughly until they are faced with an uttermost challenge!
Initially, the reader only receives a second-hand version of the story; next the reader was never there to witness first-hand the actual events to arrive at a tangible conclusion. Their immediate judgments of an expounded narration may NOT hold any water for reasons which they could be ultimately incorrect, let alone be misinterpreted or viewed.
It’s all about perspective and open-mindedness. Who could be right and who could be ultimately wrong. Are there people of experience who exist in clearly finding some adjudications to be questionable? Or are these subtle comprehensions open to be more sympathetic without awarding any undignified conclusions? Who do we blame for this kind of neurotical obsession? How can it be forever ceased? Unfortunately, there exists absolutely neither any therapy nor any medications which would be able to cure the ailment of unlawful speculatorswho possess this un-treatable ‘sudden judgment addiction‘ to whom that many refuse to be primordially impartial.
