Bedtime Gay LGBTQ+

Written in response to: "Write a story from the POV of a monster, infected creature, or lone traveler." as part of From the Ashes with Michael McConnell.

This is a true story that appeared in some small Italian newspapers, in a village called Meldola. The protagonist is Horus, born Jacob Dimitri, an Italian gay vampire, head of the Real Vampire association he has been a vampire for several generations.

-Welcome to program La Zanzara, mr Dimitri, imagine is it true that you are a real vampire gay?-

-Yes I am, I have done a lot of things in life including getting married to a man, having a son and founding the Italian Real Vampire league and... go to court with the mayor of the small town of Pennabilli! The charming village on the hills of Rimini called Pennabilli refused us to put the headquarters of the Darkblood Italy Vampire association and refused us to put the headquarters of the Real Vampire association. Social networks and the newspaper spoke of a real struggle in the country, but I did not bite them on the neck, I assure you! The director of the museum of calculation and information technology in Pennabilli and the mayor were against it and among the first to react also given the attention of the national media, including newspapers, press, and radio, tv. They feared for the reputation of the small village known for the writer Tonino Guerra. The headquarters of the New York vampire association run by Steve Barnes, my ex former partner, and the headquarters of the vampire association in Fort Worth run by Mark, my brother, were taken much more seriously than Italy did with me and the Real Vampire association.

-Really? Which were the opinion of people? could give me some examples?-

-The comments and judgements on social media were of all kinds:

A real gay vampire? And what does it suck? – was the most recurring comment between Instagram and YouTube?

But are you a gay vampire? Well, a round of applause! - introductory sentence of you the presenter of the radio program La Zanzara.

Why did they close the asylums? In Italy between vampires and wolfmen we lack nothing! But the real vampires are in parliament! – was another comment very often read on Youtube.-

Horus is not the typical vampire you would expect, he responds to irony with an ironic tone and just as much seriousness and does not have pointed canine teeth, he is bald and with a big belly also due to age, he goes around with striped shirts, not always jeans and studs and has a very flashy black hat that reminds a bit of the style of the Far West, he was interviewed by the Forlì newspaper where he declared that he does not sleep in the coffin.

In 2013 he founded the Lega Real Vampire (LRV) association in Italy: at the time he declared that he lived in Ravenna but that he was originally from the small town of Meldola that very often goes unnoticed and that began to become known thanks to this real Italian vampire. Some Italian television programs have talked about it such as Mystery and Candlewick and have found the story interesting.

-At the time of the 2017 interview, I was forty-nine years old, he already came from a family of vampires and was the father of a son who was also a vampire. Although there is a reputation that vampires fear garlic, holy water, and crosses, this is not the case with real Italian vampires, nor with me to whom these means have absolutely no effect. I builds statues in amusement parks but makes no secret of the fact that he draws energy from human blood, so I have also original job.- continues to explain Jacob Dimitri.

Very sensitive to sunlight and with the need for a high protection sunscreen, he has a body temperature of thirty four point five degrees, but his health is constantly at risk because his skin is so sensitive to sunlight that it is constantly at risk of burns, however, in the case of fractures or wounds, according to what he told the press, they heal much faster and in half the time than a normal human being.

Horus Sat claims that, like all true vampires, he has an important level of empathy and much more developed senses and to stay healthy he needs the prana energy he draws from the blood taken from humans of an association of volunteers who volunteer to have blood drawn. He told the Forlì newspaper and the radio program called La Zanzara that prana energy flows in the blood, psyche, mind and human body so it can be taken not only from the blood but also in other ways, for example by imposing the hands or psychic abilities and that the blood is drawn through syringes and not with the suction of teeth as one would expect. To stay healthy, in fact, he needs a tablespoon of blood a day. The TV series The Diary of the Beast was filmed in the crypt house of Horus Sat. Even Jacob Dimitri is a good example of integration, rights respects in Italy the judgement is still very hard but Italy could accept more vampires like him.

-But have you ever sucked blood with your teeth?-

-Before the medical check-ups we used the lancing device, that tool used by diabetics, but we prefer to do things with medical checks and also check our donors so that they do not have HIV problems.

-So you sucked the blood with the lancing device? Please people clap hands!-
