Beyond the Dark

Include the line-‘There’s no going back now’, in your story-

       Beyond the Dark 

   “Right, I’m off, I can’t take anymore….

life seems quite dull here, and it’s not like before”

‘Maybe a change of scenery’ is just what I need,

and I have to go quickly, and in transport

speed”!

And so I went to the train station, and intended

to travel far,

but the prices were too high, so I just went to the

bar;

I can have more trips in here’ I thought, ‘and for a

fraction of the price’……

‘and I don’t need transport to travel, when the

liquor’s this nice!

After many drinks my intentions were diverted,

by a pretty young lady, and both of us flirted;

We ‘got on’ well, and she said “let’s get out of

here,

you and go to another Galaxy, and visit another

sphere”!

“I thought she was joking, until she showed me

this machine,

which had lots of dials and buttons, and it

seemed sturdy and clean,

It was a bit like a tent, but it was of a solid

frame,

and then she said “I’ve traveled so much, my

life’s like a game”!

“So, come with me,  and I’ll take you to many

places,

that you’ve never been to, or you’ve seen such

strange faces”….

It sounded intriguing, and I said, “.Please show

me more”,

“Okay” she replied “well, get inside, and

secure the door”.

We were soon gone from this land, and we

were up in the air,

and we were soon in the dark, and we were

flying somewhere?

We flew into other galaxies, and we were far

from this Earth-

“would I ever return”? “Maybe, in my next

rebirth’!

We were travelling for miles, and planet

earth was now a mere star, 

and another shiny dot in the sky that would

shine bright from afar,

I had taken that gamble, and  there was no

going back, 

“But, would I be hunted, or threatened, and

be under constant-attack”!

The alcohol weakened my senses, and this

seemed like a good idea,

but as I ‘sobered-up’, she had eyes of black,

and only had one ear

She had two hands, with three fingers on

each,

and they were really long, which would

help her to reach 

That will ‘teach me to drink’- ‘although I

have said this before’,

but I suppose this could be positive, with

more lands to explore!

but this relationship won’t end in

marriage,

and you won’t find a horse out here, “let

-alone a carriage”!

        Our flight seemed to be influenced by an invisible magic, ‘with there’ being no engine or fuel involved to power us, and she looked confident in working this device, and I  couldn’t help admire her adventurous, and her courageous spirit!

        The consequences of leaving planet earth, were beginning to become a sobering reality, but I would think upon life as an adventure, and one of opportunity, and to miss this opportunity would wrestle with my mind throughout my existence on planet Earth ‘this time around’!

        Wherever we were going would be a new adventure, and one that would go beyond my imagination, even after drinking a bottle of whiskey! What seemed like it would never move, and could not be classed as traditional transportation, was finally in motion, it was remarkably smooth and quick, and there was no risk of ever falling off of it, because ‘it was as though’ it was stuck to you by some mysterious suction or force, and it somehow made this ride seem more magical, and within minutes, or ‘what seemed like minutes’, we were disembarking onto another fascinating planet, “Don’t forget” she said “you’re breathing through me, and you must always keep a hold of my hand”! “Through me, you’re adjusting to different gravities, different climates and the air that you breathe, so don’t disappear, because you really will disappear!

        “Crikey”. I thought to myself, “I know that I wanted change and some adventure in my life, but this is certainly an adventure that ‘tops all adventures’! “We are going to the planet Xerox”, she said “that has no life on it, and it is mostly black and white, being black with volcanic like rock, and white with ice! But then it got closer to the sun, and the ice melted,: and that ice melted to form water, and that little bit of warmth, encouraged the colour green to appear, in the form of lichen ,or some of you humans call it moss”! So, the different colours on some planets will usually depend upon the sun’s strength, and the gases surrounding them.

        “Beyond, and into the dark, you might be able to see fragments of planets that never were”, and she almost sounded sad, as she continued, “there is nothing on those, they are mere misshapen, and very large meteorites of ice, and perhaps some have water now?

“How many galaxies are there, and how many planets did we see”? I asked excitedly,

“I don’t know to be honest, it could be billions, or even trillions, and how many have life on them, is another mystery  “We are all aliens, and just our presence is a threat to many, in a Universe that’s so vast, and ends in a cold darkness, BUT what happens in trillions of years”?

“Does God try again without the devils intervention ‘next time’?

Obviously the sun will be humongous, and the wait for there to be total darkness again, will probably take thousands and thousands of years?

Funerals have always been miserable moments of sadness, but I have since believed strongly in reincarnation, and whenever I attend church for this sad occasion, I always wear items of colour, that is hopefully seen amongst the black, as a sign of reincarnation and hope!

I personally dislike seeing graveyards, which ruin the architecture of a fine old church, and I would rather see flowered walls, with plaques on them, that confirm that the ashes of that person lie behind these plaques, with the option of adding a photograph! 

But we’re all different, 

      “Opinions, opinions, we all have our views,

      ‘some like the reds, and some like the blues’,

      ‘some people like it hot, whilst some like it

cold,

       and some say I look young, whilst others say

I look old”!
