🌠 The Stars Between Us 🌠

Author’s Note: This story doesn’t fit the prompt. I have had the idea to write this story for a very long time and started writing it back in late November/early December, but it wasn’t really going anywhere and I didn’t know what I should put in this story anymore. After a while, I finally figured it out. I would base this story off of a song. The song is called “We’ll Be The Stars” by Sabrina Carpenter. I hope you enjoy my new story! 

Magic. The most complicated thing in life. You don’t know what to expect when you're dealing with it. But, when I was with my sister everything seemed like magic. The way she laughed. The way she talked. The way she hugged. Her positive energy. It all seemed like magic. Now, the only way I feel that magic is when I look up at the stars in the night sky, which is exactly what I’m doing right now. 

My sister made me want to reach for the stars. We always tried things together; things we didn’t know were possible. When we looked up at the night sky together the stars would make it come alive. All of our fears would drift away and become our hopes. It was like we climbed out of every single window that was locked.

She used to always say, “We can reach the constellations.” I would trust her with my life. All our dreams were breaking out. “We’re never going to turn to dust. All we really need is us. Don’t be scared to close your eyes. We’re never going to die, we’ll just turn into stars.” 

My sister was so inspiring. She made sure we never stepped too far, and that we were never letting go of ourselves and held on to who we are. I believe that when it is time to close our eyes, people will see us in the sky; we’ll be the stars. But, then the fire happened. Of course, she had to be the one who died. She had to be the one who left. The most inspiring person ever to walk on earth left the world. I lost hope when it happened. I just wanted to give up on my life. When I looked up at the stars that night, I felt like myself again; like she was watching me from the stars. 

She would let me in and hold me close. While she filled my heart with simple notes. I would let her take my breath and hold me high. So that I could feel the city lights; they were glowing under me. 

“Don’t be scared to close your eyes, we're never going to die; you’ll just turn into the stars.” Her words were repeating in my head. 

I walked back inside and upstairs to my room quietly; not wanting to wake up my parents. I climbed into my bed and wondered if I was going to wake up the next morning. I kind of wished that I wouldn’t so I would be able to reunite with my sister in the stars. Guess what, I got what I wished for… 

I hoped you liked my story!!!!! This is my first time using semicolons and I'm still not so sure how to use them, so I probably made some mistakes. Please let me know how I can use them and if I did use them correctly! Let me know how you liked it and it was pretty short so of course, I don't have enough words. I do think it may have been rushed, but I really don't know how else to write it, but I'm still proud of it and don't want to change it.
