Dear President Donald Trump,
This happens to be Prince Brempong, an African American. I write to inform you about my first day at the University. My first day at the University was good. Am also a Republican in your political party.
Last year, I voted for you during the elections, and you won to become the President of the United States of America, a land of opportunities and plenty.
On the 14th February, 2025, happens to be my first day at the University, New York University in New York, USA.
The cacophony of new experiences, combined with the promise of countless adventures, made my first day at the University memorable. Everyone looked at me as if I were from another planet, but gradually, they got to know me and understood my demeanor. I didn’t strike up a conversation with others but instead, embraced my unique quirks.
I presented my admission letter to the Admissions office of the University in order for me to be granted my preferred course in Political Science. Also, there was a Matriculation ceremony for students on that same day, the 14th February, 2025. Almost every new college student was there to hear from the Chancellor and Vice Chancellor of the University about the university and the rules and regulations of the University. I sat for about four hours listening to the Chancellor, Vice Chancellor, Lecturers, and other staff from the University about what they had for us, new college students.
After the dialogue and talk sessions, we were also introduced to the SRC, the Student Representative Council of the University. I had in mind that after I completed my Political Science course, I would someday become a President like you, President Donald Trump.
In addition, some of the new college students were introduced to the Librarian, including the New York Public Library, where they can often conduct research and then read all kinds of books in order to gain knowledge in academics for better grades.
Also, during the matriculation ceremony, almost every college student was introduced to the courses being offered on the University campus. Some new college students, including myself learnt that the University had courses in Theology, Literature, Architecture, Nursing, Journalism, Economics, Banking, Psychology, Agribusiness, and Medical sciences.
I did not know how to arrive at my lecture room. I was lost, and I had to ask one person about the building where I was going to take lectures. This person was very nice, and he gave me the right direction.
During lectures, all my new friends and other colleagues were quiet, and the lecturer arrived early.
Again at the University, we were introduced to the cafeteria, the place where sumptuous and delicious meals, including ice cream, were normally sold. At the University, we were also introduced to the washroom, a place often used for urinating and defecating.
Apart from the Cafeteria, the University had a snack bar where drinks such as malt, Fanta, Coca-Cola, and meat pie, cakes, spring rolls, and doughnuts were normally sold to college students.
Also, apart from the Library the college students were introduced to the Reading room, where they often gather to conduct research and then read an entire book on their course of study.
During the matriculation ceremony at New York University, we were taught by the Librarian of the University to never stop learning because life never stops teaching at most times.
It was during the matriculation ceremony that I learnt about other Alumni from the University who pursued courses in Nursing, Medical sciences, Journalism, Accounting, Theology, and several others. Apart from the General Library, the University also has a Law Library, a Medical Library, and a Computer Library.
Most of the new college students gathered around during leisure times to read a book or conduct a Research from the Library.
The Library awards grades to new college students who often read regularly from the library.
Again, during the exam period, the closing time for the library is extended so that college students will have enough time to study and then conduct research for their academics.
Before the climax of the Matriculation ceremony at the University of New York, the new college students were introduced to the University Sports complex and the University hospital.
Also in the University Sports complex were swimming pools, a football field, table tennis, lawn tennis, a golf course, basketball, and volleyball.
I am always going to remember my first day at the University because I had the opportunity to meet more people, and most importantly, I met the best friends that I have ever had.
My first day at the university was a whirlwind of emotions. My excitement had always been at its peak, and I was eagerly awaiting this day.
I was offered the opportunity to work on campus whilst at the University in order to earn some money to pay for my extra expenses at the University of New York.
The Student Services department informed me about the job vacancy they had on campus at the University of New York.
On my first day at the University of New York, I had the chance to meet Harriet and Vanessa. They were people I became friends with quickly. We discussed our mutual love for reading and writing, and it was during one of these conversations that they introduced me to the Medium app, where they wrote their pieces. At that time, I didn’t take it seriously, but I installed the app out of curiosity at that time. Over time, my attitude changed, and I became genuinely serious about writing. I still have the Medium app today and continue to use it to develop my writing skills. Harriet and Vanessa remained connected, and we talked and shared opportunities whenever they arose.
The craziest thing I did on the first day of university was write in my diary about what occurred there.
Finally, I think it was natural on my part that on the first day, I felt nervous, but things always have a happy ending, and my first day at the University was very good.
I hope that you will consider this letter to learn about my first day at the University of New York. Thank you.
Hope to hear from you soon. I bid you goodbye.
Yours faithfully,
….. P.D.G.B……..
