Shreya is an ardent devotee of a goddess. One day, when Shreya's daughter Ayra commits a sin, the goddess curses her with death within 24 hours. Shreya begs for Ayra's life. The goddess asks Shreya to give her the souls of 10 sinners in exchange for her daughter's life. This means Shreya must kill 10 sinners. Shreya makes a mental note of all the people who wronged her. These are the 10 people:
1) Her Mom:
Her mom constantly compared her with others and demanded Shreya to be like them. She was never satisfied with Shreya. She used to bully her in front of her parents and insult her every day. She never believed in Shreya and constantly treated her with disrespect. Even when Shreya tried to do everything she wanted, she still wasn't happy with Shreya. She disrespected her every single time she opened her mouth. Shreya never had a single respectable conversation with her mother. However, Shreya had Stockholm syndrome with her mother. So, she used to tell her everything. Her mom then used to find more ways to ill-treat Shreya. The cycle of abuse continued for 22 years. Her mother is extremely cruel, evil, selfish, and narcissistic. So, Shreya felt justified to kill her.
2) Her Dad:
Shreya's dad is also extremely selfish and narcissistic. He put himself above Shreya's needs. He even suggested her mom to abort her when she was pregnant with Shreya. He was a workaholic and hardly talked to Shreya. When he divorced Shreya's mom, he didn't want to do anything with Shreya. Years later, when Shreya begged her dad to take her with him (as she was unable to bear her mom), he simply ignored her. So, Shreya felt justified to kill him.
3) Her Stepfather:
Shreya's stepfather always poisoned her mom about Shreya. He used to say things like "Shreya is ugly, she doesn't study well, and she doesn't have properties". He also cheated on Shreya's mom for the entire time that they were married. He is not just a narcissist but also a psychopath and a sociopathic lair. So, Shreya felt justified to kill him.
4) Her Grandmother:
Shreya's grandmother hated Shreya's dad. She stopped loving Shreya after her parents’ divorce. She treated her like a punching bag and always found ways to yell at Shreya. She constantly watched Shreya like a hawk and faulted her at every chance she got. Even when Shreya got 99% in mathematics, she belittled her by saying that the neighbor got 100%. When Shreya was bleeding, she was only concerned about the money that would cost to repair her bike. She didn’t even care that Shreya was bleeding. She was very rude and made it humanly impossible for Shreya to live with her although Shreya tried as much as she could. She is evil and narcissistic. She had zero empathy. So, Shreya felt justified to kill her.
5) Her Grandfather
Shreya's grandfather wasn't bad with Shreya in the beginning. He changed after witnessing his wife constantly ill-treating Shreya. He also started being rude to her and finding faults in her constantly. He stopped trusting her and always thought that Shreya had evil intentions behind everything she does. He kept his eyes closed whenever Shreya’s mom ill-treated her. However, when Shreya retaliated once, he suggested his daughter to kick Shreya out of the house. He is also a narcissist. So, Shreya felt justified to kill him.
6) Her Frenemy in High School:
Shreya's frenemy was constantly moody. For her satisfaction, she constantly belittled Shreya to make herself feel better. It is said that misery likes company. She is the best example. Even though Shreya bent over backwards to be as nice as possible with her, she still ill-treated Shreya. She never cared about Shreya's intentions. She only cared if Shreya's actions harmed her in any way. One day, Shreya brought her lunch box for her from the main gate. Instead of thanking Shreya, she yelled at her as she lost the opportunity to get candies from her driver. She is also evil and narcissistic. So, Shreya felt justified to kill her.
7) Shreya's ex-husband:
Shreya's ex-husband used Shreya for money. He never liked her. When he doesn't like Shreya, he shouldn't marry her and constantly lie to her that he liked her. One day, when Shreya was about to drive her car under influence (with his daughter in the back seat), he came running and stopped the car. He screamed that he would donkey kick Shreya if she ever tried it again. He took the keys and threw them on the grass and said, “Good luck finding it”. The next day, Shreya asked him what he would have done if she was alone in the car. He told her that he would let her go. That was when Shreya understood that he didn’t like her. He is a bad person. So, Shreya felt justified to kill him.
8) The father of her daughter:
Ayra's father once hit Ayra when she was just a month old. He also screamed at Shreya multiple times in front of Ayra. That is not a safe environment for Ayra. Being from a broken family, Shreya knew the pain very well. He is also selfish and narcissistic, exactly like Shreya's dad. So, Shreya felt justified to kill him.
9) Ayra's Grandfather:
Ayra’s grandfather is exactly like Shreya's mother. He also kept belittling his son every day. He is the reason his son turned out to be like that. If he continues to live with Ayra, he might belittle her too. He is cruel, evil, and narcissistic. So, Shreya felt justified to kill him.
Shreya killed each of the 9 people by inviting them over for lunch and poisoning their food. She couldn't come up with the tenth sinner, and her time was running out. In the last minute, she decided to eat her poisoned food thereby making the ultimate sacrifice for her daughter Ayra.
The goddess was deeply touched with Shreya’s ultimate sacrifice that she decides to give Shreya her soul back.

Hi, I recently came across your story and really enjoyed how smoothly the scenes flow. The atmosphere feels very visual and easy to imagine.
