Timeless Dream

A female truck driver named Dawn drives a 16-wheeler truck though the rainy roads of California while listening and singing along the song eyes without a face. This always places Dawn in a utopia state of mind no matter what ill events may erupted in her life. Driving was Dawn therapy dealing with life, however there is a void in Dawn’s life which driving can't fill and that’s companionship. Dawn didn’t have the best of luck with relationship on top of that she’s only dated other women. A lifestyle her mother didn’t approve of but continued on to live her life anyway. Lucky for Dawn being a truck driver granted her opportunities having relations with multiple women but nothing ever serious. Still, she was grateful for each romantic experience Dawn had with them. She drives reminiscing about her past relationship but shortly snaps out of it once noticing her Phoenix destination is nearby. Thirty minutes Dawn’s arrives in Phoenix pulling up to her truck company headquarters where her boss is outside to greet her.

“Dam Dawm another load delivers safely and ahead of time.”

“Remember that well you’re working on my rise Cyus.” Dawn said

“Always the smart ass.” Cyus said

Cyus orders his other workers to deliver the truck to the uploading docks. He then informs Dawn he has a special-order load to be deliver with a large payout. The money catches her attention and tells Cyus she’s in.

“Great meet me at my place in three days.” Cyrus said

Dawn didn’t know it but she was the lost one to arrive at Cyus’s house noticing four coworker truck drivers. This took her by surprise, but it didn't bother her much; she knew as well as Cyrus she’s the best truck driver in the room. Once Dawn is seated, Cyrus greets all his drivers and discloses and discusses this special truck job. Cyrus they will be transporting very expensive groundbreaking equipment for a client which they choses to be unomiuos.

“What’s in the containers?” Dawn asked

“Does it matter, they are paying us alot of money.”

That was one of the drivers named William or Will who replied to Dawn’s question. Dawn really didn’t care for Will; he was an ex-con two-bit hustle low level street drug dealer who Cyrus gave a second chance in life but only for the kickback pay he reivced from the government for hiring felonies.

“It’s always good to know what you’re hauling, any real trucker would know that.” Dawn said

“At least I’m a real man.” Will said

“Not real enough.” Dawn said

“Stop it you two!” Cyrus shouted

Cyrus then hands each truck drivers documents that if they happen to be stopped by any law enforcement authorizes these documents grantees any illegal issues. Once all five truckers examine and take the documents, Dawn gives a dark glaze at each and every trucker including Cyrus. Seconds later the four truckers departed with Dawn doing the same but stopped by Cyrus.

“Cease this chosen one leadership attitude.” Cyus said

“Why?, reminds you on how a real man should act?” Dwan asked

“It’ll get you in trouble Dawn.” Cyrus replied

“Is that why you continue to live as a coward?” Dawn asked

Courtney silently stares at Dawn with a remorsefull expression as did Dawn. Minutes with either one unwilling to break their silent it took Cyrus’s cell ringing for them to cease staring at one other. Cyrus didn’t reveal the caller,r, but he didn’t have to, Dawn was way too familiar with the conversation. It was the individual Cyrus has been taking orders from since he accepted doing varies of secret deliveries. Dawn is grateful for the chances Courtney has given her but hates witnessing the man who give her a second chance of life mark as a clown

“You need to get rid of him or takeover.” Dawn said

“If it was that simple.” Cyrus said

“It is, but you have to have balls to do so.” Dawn said

Once again, Cyrus becomes silent staring at an unpleasant expression at Dawn but doesn’t intimate her. Instead, Dawn walks up close enough towards Cyrus inches away from his face and mentions the name Mima. Cyrus started breathing deeply while bolding both of his fists. After taking a deep breathe he informs Dawn to catch up on rest for this big deliver job ahead. Still Dawn remains untethered by Cyurs’s scared tactics and decides to take off the gloves.

“Does Mima really knows how you feel about her?” Dawn asked

“You upset you can't make love to her like I can?” Cyrus replied

“Nope, because you don’t have the balls to even buy her flowers.” Dawn replied

Cyrus remains Dawn who’s her boss causing her to question the man she grew to know and admire. A man who would never hide behind his title when hit with the truth or a man who knows what he wants and sets out to obtain it. Dawn finally leaves Cyrus’s house but without a lasting statement from her.

“You can’t become a leader living in fear.” Dawn said

Friday morning, loading for all five truckers who are patiently awaiting in their fully fueled 16 diesel trucks. As the containers are being loaded onto the trucks, Courtney presents the proper papers to Mary, the administration personal at the loading docks. Courtney has dealt with Mary countless times ever since being in the trucking business and doesn’t care about the old piece of shit hag. But he’s a businessman and doesn’t allow his personal feelings get in the way. If only Courtney remembered that once he saw Mima driving up in a SWV with several other individuals. Exiting out of the SUV, Mima’s boss greets Courtney and his trucker’s crew. Courtney forces a smile, greeting him the same.

“Hello Destry, I’m surprise to see you here.” Cyurs said

“Yes, normally I don’t spend time with the help but this is a sensive matter.” Destry said

Dawn didn’t take too kindly of Destry’s subliminal insult and was seconds away on sharing that with him. However Courtney is all to familiar with Dawen’s behavior and knows she’s seconds away from catching a case if not stop. So Courtney slightly shakes his head while staring at Dawn, causing Dawn to regain her composure, avoiding a protentional mess. Minutes later Destry gives last-minute instruction informing Courtney that the truck hauling a blue container load will drive at a completely different destination then the rest of the four trucks. Also, Destry requests William to be the one driving the truck. Courtney didn’t like last minutes chances especially entrusting someone as shady as William with an important task. Nevertheless, the client is paying Courtney a large sum to deliver the load as order. Courtney agrees to Destry’s terms and starts to take his departure with his crew but before he does, Courtney sprints towards Mima.

“Hey Mima I was wondering after this delivery we can catch a concert or something?” Courtney asked

“Really?..you want to go out with little old me?” Mima asked

“Sure, that’s if you let me?” Courtney replied

Mima accepts Courtney’s invitation; the giant smile on his face is a dead giveaway that nearly made Dawn burst out of laughter. The two join up discussing Destry’s last minute weird order, but their conversation is cut short due to William joining them. William boosts how only the best driver can be trusted to be called on a essential delivery such as this one. Both Dourtney and Dawn became sick listening to William rambling on. Courtney ensures William no one will touch the blue container truck beside him. Wiliam then departs leaving Courtney and Dawn to continue their conversation.

“Stage 1 complete only took you forever.” Dawn said

“These things take finesse.” Courtney said

“Shit, she would already been curl up in my sheets.” Dawn said

Courtney laughs then tells Dawn to be careful on this trip. Dawn nodded her head telling him a few more loads and she’ll be moving to Utah something that Dawn was set on doing given enough time. Courtney thought it was a lame state to go, but to have a piece of mind is priceless. Three hours have passed since all five truckers set out to California to load this secret product which they arrived a little over four hours. The entire time William kept his eyes locked onto that blue container even when it was loaded onto his truck. Dawn couldn’t help but notice how sketchy he was behaving. On the way back to Phoenix, Dawn radio in on each trucker making sure everyone was fine. William was the only one who seemed a little distracted. At the last truck shop, Dawn decided to switch trucks with William by waiting until he exited his truck and then entered it informing the rest of the crew she’ll be taking off. William was highly upset once finding out what Dawn did, but it was already too late. The only thing he could do is drive her truck to Phoenix. Once in Phoenix, William shouts how Dawn takes his truck and possibly ruins the delivery for all of them. Courtney calls Dawn to give her the address where the truck is supposed to be dropped off and will meet her there with William begs to tag along. Courtney and William arrive at the drop off spot first; they then see Dawn pulling up in the truck. Dawn exits out the truck meeting Courtney and William.

“Dawn, you had me scare.” Courtney said

“I’m sorry Court I just had..”

Before Dawn could finish her sentence, William tackles her and jumps into the truck immediately driving off. Courtney is left speechless but hurried to check on Dawn. Wiiliam attacked Dawn and drove off the truck. Dsawn was given a mouth off where she rested and meet a lovely bartender named Heather. The two get to know each other pretty well, so well that Heather was practically moving in. Courtney would call to check in on Dawn which everything was ok. Until William along with two men paid Dawn a visit late Saturday’s night. It was unclear what William wanted due to Heather being there with Dawn forcing William to retreat.

“I’ll be back, please think about your partner wellbeing if you don’t have what I'm looking for.” William said

The next day Dawm informs Courtney about last night with William and two other guys. Courtney is aware delivering unknown loads for unknown people was impossible to call the cops leaving Dawn the only opion to leave Phoenix but before he can say anything, William comes rolling in with the same two guys armed this time! William asks for but he refuses to give her up resulting in an all-out fight. It’s suddenly comes to a haul with Dawn coming from underneath a desk and shooting her handgun. She hits one man causing William the other guy to flee. Courtney checks the guy Dawn shots discovering he’s dead!

“You need to leave town now!” Courtney said

“No, what about Heather?” Dawn asked

“That’s exactly why you should go, William along with the cops will be looking for you.” Courtney replied

Courtney then asks Dawn why William along with their ex-client is looking for her? But before she could answer the police, sirens were heard outside. Courtney tells her a safe place she could hold out until he can arrange for her to leave the city. The cops swap Courtney entire truck headquarters taking pictures asking varies of questions until the lead detractive Maressia Gonzalez arrives. She’s well unknown to Courtney under world operation. She cuts to the small talk and informs Courtney of a device capable of unlimited power and whoever has it is a sure way to dead.

“If you know where that last trucker of yours, tell them to turn themselves in.” Maressia said

Heather meets Dawn at the safeway house Courtney provided early for her. They hug and kiss each other as if it was the last day on earth. Dawn then reveals that she went inside the blue container to obtain a device. Heather couldn’t understand how a device can cause so much mayhem.

“I’m not sure but I know my time here in Phoenix is short. Came to Utah with me.” Dawn said

“Are you sure?” Heather asked

“Yes, this is the best time if ever.” Dawn replied

Night comes where Dawn starts her leave with the aid of Courtney leaving a car nearby downtown arena. Sadly, William with some new guys ambushed her.

“I’m her Dawn!” Courtnety shouts

Courtney holds them off enough for Dawn and heather escaping in the car. But as they drive off, Dawn has a change of mind and decides to go back and Courtney.

“Fuck Dawn are you sure?..I mean will you have enough time?” Heather asked

Dawn glances at her ensuring it will be enough time to save Courtney and return to her beloved. Dawn returns just in time before Courtney gets overwhelmed by William and the men he’s with. Gun fire erupts shattering glass and blowing holes in walls. The cops arrive on screen causing William to run; Courtney follows with Dawn trailing behind him. Courtney screams for her to go back, but Dawn refuses to leave him alone with William. They end up tracking William down at an abandoned railroad place where William does his best to hide like a roach in the dark. Both Courtney and Dawn careful search for him until William gets the upper hand on Courtney and proceeds to shoots him but Dawn shouts Courtney’s name causing William to turn his attention towards her shooting her in the process. Courtney eyes widened while screaming in anger and then empty his gun into William’s body. Courtney quickly goes to Dawn doing anything he can to save her life. Sadly, her gun wounds are too much for her body and takes one last look at Courtney.

“We had a great run...tell my love it’s closing time for me.” Dawn said

Dawn's life then slips away from her body, leaving a hurtful Courtney holding her in his arms.

This story combines action, suspense, and emotion into an engaging adventure that kept me interested throughout. I especially enjoyed Dawn's determination and the heartfelt relationships that gave the story an emotional ending.
