Author’s Note
(This piece is dedicated to my friend Solihin, passed on 16 November 2025.
Just four days earlier, on 12 November, he spoke about wanting to submit his poetry to Reedsy, to let the world feel his words, his heart, and the way he saw life.
I am sharing this on his behalf, exactly as he hoped, so that his voice may continue to travel where he can no longer go.
May these words honour his memory. Rest in power, buddy.)

Journey of a Waking Dream
by Solihin (Eein)
⸻
A new horizon will soon be upon us
Saddened not by all that we’ve lost,
For all that we are not, are being tossed.
In music I hear stories.
In pictures I see patterns.
In emotions I see colors.
In ideas I see magic.
Intricately woven in the chaos of Universe.
A gift or a curse, you wonder;
I see it all in your fear.
Cursed are the relics of obsession and rage,
Driving a powerful ambition and hate.
My love is the gift that breaks your cage.
Arise and bring me the new age,
My darkest red.
⸻
Trust not my present but my deeds
Stories imbued with past wisdom,
From dark trials and tribulations.
Lesson learned not for my future,
But for others who walk after.
Study not my praise but of my abysmal prime.
When it is all said and done,
And we shall go back to One.
May I fade away into the passage of time,
Like all those others before mine.
I have always been around through time,
Space, and all colors in your taste.
The mind imagines what the heart is dreaming.
Be faithful and patient in looking for my face.
My crown was never about race;
It has always been in your gaze.
The mind is heartless while the heart is mindless.
Riddles you chase are naught but a maze.
Do not be dazed by secrets in my sarcophagus.
The answers you seek are not in your past where I was praised.
Oh my brave one, have faith.
⸻
Heed my word, not my glory
For my story ended in tragedy.
Ambitions don’t last — proven by histories.
Blessed are the dreamers, as they leave a legacy.
All may think you are a shameless travesty.
While I’m no deity nor have lived in piety,
Trust not me but my story.
Past royalty we can never be,
For you owe me no fealty.
Feel my words pouring with sincerity.
As I am in love with your loyalty.
From what I have seen,
It is true in all honesty.
⸻
I know it’s a long journey of passing
Trust me love, the believers are rallying.
They may not know it yet, but it’s a blessing.
I’m so sorry for all that you are enduring.
True love is all around mongering.
If only you would breathe easy and be a little trusting,
You would see all that you touch,
You’re simply colouring —
With your heart that is so loving.
All gold and glitters do not interest you.
All you want is to be remembered too.
Oh my love, I believe in what you can do.
So in me you shall believe too.
⸻
For all that you see, do not be deceived
Each time that you breathe,
They are as close in the breeze.
Trust — but for once don’t you believe
That you could let out a sigh of relief.
For all that was taken, let it be a gift.
It will be returned to the One Almighty.
Know the flow or again you will drift,
Else a time of a loop you will relive.
Heed it in and just breathe.
Though a taste of hope was short lived,
Please have trust in your belief.
⸻
I remembered their whispers
To quit at the earliest hours,
Pre-telling with sympathy.
The more we push on through,
The more we lose all that makes you.
Oh brave soul, I remember you saying
For all things good — the reason you’re enduring.
I weep at the sight of your battered, tired heart.
From within my own, my vow burning bright.
I would stand by you with pride.
I thank you
For telling my story even at the cost of your own part.
One day soon you’ll realize we are one and the same,
You and I.
⸻
How lucky of you to live in a city
Where race and religion live in harmony.
Moonlight magic gleams its beauty
In your darkest hour of destiny.
A curse or a gift — for all of you are odds defying.
Only time will unravel all that need deciphering.
What it really is, up to you to decide its meaning.
Your dream of a long time being,
Breathing, living a legacy in the making.
A journey of a waking dream.
⸻
Here is where you belong
Trust me I know — rarely am I wrong.
When the space makes up the throne,
The pain, the love, and the bane of our song.
The core of all that makes me are gone.
No dime or time could right the wrong,
The feeling that haunts you all night long.
Similar yet so apart
Through countless journeys of day and night.
A dream many have carried before yours could ever come to be.
Doubt me not — yours will inevitably be.
⸻
They could not even begin to fathom what they hoped to understand
The secrets that were shut entombed —
Made out of lies could never stand.
I am not a mere brand.
How I lived was far from grand.
Do not blame them for they dare not stand.
It never was about gold or land —
It has always been about the greed of man.
When all control was lost they seek to destroy
A truth that was kept away since the time of Troy.
For the one that carries himself like a prince,
The one that walks like a lord when he thinks,
The one that protects like a warrior in a blink,
And the one that is beloved by his patron Queen —
Rises through the ranks from a street urchin.
For all of his gifts, he walks his path a lonely being.
Do not stop believing.
As long as you are breathing,
Keep at it — keep hoping.
A legacy worth dreaming.
⸻
Division does not ever lead to creations
Abrasion, altercation and eventually destructions.
Rough it was — the path that led to realization.
It is never too late if only we learned our lessons.
To bond into co-existence is not by utilizing garrison.
The only way is through tolerance, patience, and compassion for all creations.
Pay attention with mind wide open.
Take in all the lessons with heart filled compassion.
Then paint it all into a colorful nation.
Do you love?
Do you live with all of your heart?
I promise if you do, nothing could break you apart.
Well I did — I live for my people with all of my heart.
I feel lost mostly, but I know deep in my gut:
To have love for all things is to keep away the rot.
My memories are not just a history —
It is a story that stood apart.
She still grieves from all of them cut,
So be kind when playing your part.
Though wisdom is the only thing she pours,
All of which he searches for lies deep in his core.
⸻
Adversity gathered like thundering clouds
It has been a long, treacherous mile.
We are one, you and I — don’t you doubt.
So I hope of you the least is to keep our smile.
An idealistic heart of a child,
The pragmatic mind of an adult —
The latter of reality and facts,
The former of dreams and hope.
Then a balance is when the mind loves the heart.
If we are what we consume,
It’s apparent all that we consume should be of balance.
In your journey of remembrance,
Walking the path of divergence —
Not through light that you were enlightened;
Doing right by love was how yours were written.
On the days of so many that you brightened,
Despite all the darkness so many were frightened.
One such as you are touched, colored by so much.
If you would only believe, yours will be a sight to see —
A tale that soon will come to be.
Believing in me
Has always been the key.
Am I ready?
⸻
What is it now that you desire arbitrarily?
Can you hear the soft whisper when it’s windy?
Like a buzz of a bee flying in the breeze?
In the hour of solstice you asked:
Am I ready?
The line between insanity and familiarity,
Between audacity and piety,
Between loyalty and rarity,
Between hearty and ingenuity.
Do it right by my integrity,
Charting your own uniquely.
A right balance — I’m sure it’s tricky.
Trust me — in you I leave my story.
Worth so much more than my monarchy.
It lives in you daily, in your memory,
In your bravery in creating your own history.
So that others may create their own legacy.
Believe in you and me —
One we’re meant to be.
Not a burden to carry, but a responsibility.
To me, in all infinity —
Your love is worthy.
