My story is titled the young journalist overhead and started spreading rumors about the sudden death of the President.
Once upon a time, whilst the President was sick at home for about a month, he was sent to the hospital in the United States of America for treatment and medication.
However , the President could not make it because he was suffering from stomach ulcer.
Almost all the doctors and nurses took proper care of him and gave him all the necessary medication but he could not survive. Also, rumors has it that he could not possibly survive upon the necessary health care and other medications that he was given at the John Hopkins University in the USA.
Also, the young journalist Mr. John Brown upon hearing about the rumours that the President was dead, had to write a story on it in the newspaper and other media.
The Journalist wrote a vivid story about what caused the illness and then the death of the President in the newspaper and TV news.
Also within a short while , rumours spread all over the country and other communities at the President was dead.
Others thought that the young journalist was spreading lies about the President and it was some sort of defamation. Also since the rumours spread in the newspaper publication, it was termed as libel, that means lies written or published in the newspaper.
Normally during rumours , when the lies are spoken out loud it was termed as slander.
The young journalist wrote a realistic scene about what actually happened before the death of the President. Others argued that it was a false statement or a misstatement because how can the President possibly die and that it might be his twin brother who was also sick in America.
Also rumors has it that both of them looked alike and the protected each other. Due to this for the reputation of the President , his twin brother acted as if he was dead at John Hopkins University in the USA and that spread the rumors that the President was dead.
All this happened because within that particular year a group of soldiers gathered in a meeting to overthrow the President in a coup detat , since that meeting was spread as a rumor , the President was not dead but his twin brother had to pretend as if he was dead in the United States of America.
Another Pastor, Pastor Prince Brempong advised the young journalist about false rumors . However Prince Brempong argued that individuals or journalists should not try to fight the rumors by spreading more gossips as this only adds fuel to fire.
Also Pastor Prince Brempong argued that the Bible strongly condemns the spreading of rumors , that is equating it with destructive gossip and slander.
Rumors circulated that the President was dead but it was not true. How can a President who does good deeds have died within a short term in office.
When a rumor circulates an interesting story or a piece of news might be true or invented quickly and it might not be true. Also there was various rumors circulating that the President was dead but it was not true.
The journalist had not seen the dead body of the President , but he went with his friends to pay tribute to the late President. Others thought he was being envy and he exhibited some sort of resentment within himself.
However, instead of the Journalist celebrating the success or the beauty of others, they dwelt on flaws and they fabricated stories about false funerals.
Later after two weeks when the soldiers who had wanted to overthrow the President were arrested and put into prison. Also the Supreme court sentenced them to ten years in prison with hard labor.
The soldiers and the police were put into prison because they decided to overthrow the President in a coup. It was noted that most of the soldiers and the Police who had wanted to engage in coup were very cruel and most of them owned ammunitions.
Finally rumors circulated that the President was not dead but he had now recovered from his sickness from the Lincoln Hospital. Also rumors has it that it was his twin brother who acted as if the President was dead to protect his dear brother the original President.
Again rumors has it that although a funeral was made for the President, it was not true that the President was dead but another body with a face mask of the President was what was put in the coffin. The dead body resembled the President so almost all the citizens in the country and other inhabitants of that community thought the President was dead.
The funeral was done within the country in order to entice and excite the wicked soldiers and Police officers who had wanted to engage in a coup. Also when they heard that the President was dead , they did not mourn at all but they were excited chanting slogans for a reelection of a new President and that most of them had wanted to contest for a new election.
These soldiers and Police officers even went to the extent of organizing a get together in the form of a party celebrating the demise of the President. The situation of the death of the President was very alarming but they showed no sympathy but they were rather excited.
In conclusion, when the journalist saw the President on television, he was startled because he thought it was a ghost. The President talked about the alleged coup, and that a group of soldiers and Police officers had wanted to overthrow him but God in his own mercy helped him recover from his illness at the Lincoln hospital. They thought that it was a ghost but seeing is believing, they later realized by watching television that the President was not dead.
Also to be frank , the President went for a sick leave upon hearing about the coup that the soldiers and Police officers have decided to undertake.
Finally since he was on a sick leave his Vice President acted on his behalf. After the arrest of the cruel soldiers and Police officers who had wanted to engage in a coup, the President came back to office after his long flight from America.
