Color Thief

Mid-day. Soldier of Rovasanvic, named Arcstat woke up in a world where there's nothing to fight or protect. He got up and went to the washroom. His sister called him to pray. He told his sister to start cooking. So he can finish paying respects to his mother who died last year due to a flu, and then join his sister to help her cook.

A man named Ruvik came to Rovasanvic to see his loved one. He had a horrible past. He's already traumatized by his abusive father and his older brother. Ruvik's only support was his lover. He came all the way from his home just to see her smile. His home was three days away. He also had a friend to visit. Who was Arcstat.

A knock on Arcstat's door. He opened his door and saw Ruvik. He had a big smile. Arcstat welcomed Ruvik in. Gave him a hug and made him sit down. They started talking. About Ruvik's work, and life. Arcstat asked. "Why don't you move here? You can marry my sister and stay with us. You are having a rough time in your place, Ruvik." Ruvik disagreed with what Arcstat said. He indeed had a rough time, but he doesn't want to marry Arcstat's sister. She's beautiful and had a great personality. But someone else had his heart. Arcstat and Ruvik worked together many years ago. They both had respect for each other. Still Arcstat can't force his friend to do anything. They finished their talk and Ruvik started walking to the spot where he actually came to visit and stay.

He was shocked by what he saw in his lover's place. He couldn't believe what was happening. His lover's hut looked different with many colors. He saw another man kissing her while smiling at him. She was smiling wearing a red color revealing outfit. There were many other men too, drinking and eating. He understood that she wore that revealing outfit to lure all these men in. Ruvik was working only for about three months without contacting her. That was enough time for her to change.

It broke his heart. He didn't know what to do. He started walking. He looked at the village people and saw many people smiling and laughing. While his life is shattered right in front of him. He kept walking toward the edge of a cliff. He couldn't hold back his tears. His life was never been happier. Now his last peace is gone. He was ready to die. Suddenly, he heard a voice from above the clouds.

"Ready to die are we?"

Ruvik lifted his head up and looked at the sky. He saw a man who's wearing a dark cloak. The man sighed. He told Ruvik, "Since you didn't have a good life. Since it's our fault that we didn't keep your life steady. I can grant you one power that will balance the good and bad in your life. Ask me son, what do you want?"

Ruvik wiped his tears. The anger started crawling towards his head. He clenched his fists. "Give me the power to destroy and take control of the colors. The colors in the world make people happy right? I'm going to erase it and use it against everyone who oppose me."

"Then it shall be your power. Now, I grant you the power of color." The man in black gave him a light that didn't shine bright. It was black, even though it's a light. The light went into Ruvik's heart and started spreading across his body through his nerves. His eyes turned black.

He regained control over his body. He snapped his fingers. After a second, the whole world went empty. The laughs and happiness started to disappear.

Arcstat saw this sudden change and started to wonder what was happening. There was no color. This is weird and nobody understood what happened and how to fix it. He told his sister to stay put. He barged his door and came out. He saw the clouds revolving around a certain cliff. He ran and reached the cliff. He saw a man who's covered in black was standing there. It's not the being that came from the sky. It's Ruvik.

Arcstat knew Ruvik. He called his name. There was no response. Arcstat ran towards him to catch his shoulder. He grabbed Ruvik and he's gone. Like a shadow. There was nothing left there. Not even Ruvik's tear. Arcstat understood that nothing they can do now. He needed to run back home to his sister. He saw some unusual things when he was running back home. He saw people that couldn't see anything. Some people who started to loose their minds. The neighbors of Arcstat started to bleed because of this. They couldn't even see the color of the blood. He opened the door and saw that his sister also affected by this. She was screaming in the corner of the house. He rushed for her comfort. But nothing helped at all. His words and care didn't reach her. He scream didn't stop. It kept increasing and increasing. Slowly. Arc didn't have much choice. He had to leave his house and find out what actually happened and he had to fix it. That would be the only way that he can save his sister and all the people in the country from all this wicked nonsense. He went out his back. He jumped on his horse and started to ride toward the spot where Ruvik was. He needed to get any clue as he can so he can actually fix the problem.

He reached the spot and started to feel something himself. What he feared started to happen to him. He felt the pressure. The colorless world started to give him a physical and mental pressure. For some reason he wanted to hurt himself. But he had a purpose to fulfill. He tried so hard to get that itchy feeling off his body. But he couldn't. He noticed the clouds started to move to a certain spot. He started to follow it. He moved too fast. Then he noticed he made a mistake. He accidentally fell off from the cliff. He never thought any of this would happen today. But it did.

Nobody knew what happened to Ruvik. Nobody knew how to save the world from darkness and sadness. Nobody knew anything anymore.

The world stayed colorless because of one man's pain.
