Overview
Your book deserves the special alchemy of a magic-wielding copyeditor, line editor, and proofreader. I bring to your work my experience editing for traditional publishers of fantasy, romantasy, sci-fi, and horror; kindness and professionalism; expert knowledge of The Chicago Manual of Style; and the fire of a lifelong passion for your genre.
EXPERIENCE
I've edited books by numerous indie authors and for publisher imprints such as Tor, Tordotcom, Forge, Nightfire, Bramble, St. Martin's, Minotaur Books, and Wednesday Books.
My author list includes New York Times– and USA Today–bestselling authors: Glen Cook, Sarah Gailey, Ben Bova, Martha Wells, Sarah Beth Durst, Cixin Liu, Carissa Broadbent, Juliette Cross, Wendy Wagner, Ray Nayler, Aliette de Bodard, Tobi Ogundiran, Johnny Compton, CJ Leede, Christopher Buehlman, and many others. Several titles have been Hugo, Locus, Nebula, and Stoker winners and nominees. (See my PORTFOLIO below.)
My genre specialties are fantasy, romantasy, science fiction, horror, and paranormal.

SERVICES
Copyediting—finding and zapping pesky errors in grammar, usage, mechanics, and spelling per Chicago style; ensuring setting and character consistency; light fact-checking; and documenting your story details in a style sheet
Line editing—a deep line-by-line language review of your entire manuscript for repeating words, sentence and paragraph flow, ambiguity, wordiness, agreement, language pacing, and anything else that would cause a reader to lose immersion in your story; includes a copyedit in the same editing round
——I especially LOVE working on writing by authors for whom English is not their native language and have extensive experience in line editing such books——
Proofreading—one last pass through your already copyedited manuscript to check for final errors; review your typeset and formatted PDF for alignment and design issues, hyphenation mistakes, and proper back and front matter; can be added to a copyedit or line edit for a comprehensive service
Query editing—line editing and copyediting your letter and synopsis
