Overview
I have 15+ years of senior level new writing experience in producing theatres in the UK. I am a Dramaturg, Literary Manager and Commissioning Producer of playwrights, working on award winning theatre. I have specialisms in adaptation for stage, translations into English and developing new work from idea through to production and publication. I was Literary Manager for HighTide Festival Theatre, Associate Dramaturg at London's The Bush Theatre and have 10+ years experience as an Artistic/Creative Director. I have worked as a freelancer at the National Theatre & the Hampstead Theatre among many others. I have been a judge and reader on major new writing prizes and awards.
I have extensive experience of story development and editing and have taught writing at the Royal School of Speech and Drama in London. I have delivered countless workshops, led writing retreats in the UK and internationally and spoken at conferences on new writing. I am a trustee of Arvon, the home for Creative Writing in the UK. I have written on playwriting and can also support non-fiction writers working on Arts & Humanities subjects. I have supported writers across the USA, Canada and Europe as well as at home across the UK.
You can expect a compassionate, collaborative and generous attitude with my focus being on supporting you and your writing to flourish. I have a particular interest in character development and working on plot. If you have an idea that needs translation into a dramatic form I can work with you to realise that work. I am equally able to support writers of fiction with idea development.
