Radhika S – Editor

Fiction editor, with experience working with Amazon bestsellers, debuts and aspiring authors across several genres

Overview

I’ve worked for two leading publishing houses in the UK – HarperCollins and Hachette – on several commercial fiction titles. I'm now a freelance editor and continue to edit for a number of big and small publishers.

I have extensive editorial experience working across many genres, including crime, suspense, historical, romance and book club. I’m not snobby, I know and love brilliant novels in any genre and have edited and acquired both agented and unagented authors for my lists. I’ve worked with hopeful authors, debut novelists, and Amazon bestsellers at every stage of the editorial process – from brainstorming ideas, providing feedback on initial story and plot, even creating full synopses for stories based on market-leading trends, to structural and line edits of manuscripts. Authors I have worked with include Kate Hewitt, Sam Carrington, David Leadbeater, Jane Adams and many more.

My experience means that I see hundreds of unpublished manuscripts from aspiring authors. I know what a book needs to stand out and love to work with authors to ensure it does just that, to develop a compelling protagonist with an unforgettable voice, to make sure your pacing is just right and that the story immediately hooks you in and leaves you completely satisfied at the close.

Whether you’re looking for an in-depth edit, an expert pair of eyes on your submission to agents, help with your title and blurb or advice on your next steps to publication, I’m available for that and more. I'm passionate about stories and would love to help you get your manuscript into the best possible shape.

Please do reach out if you have any questions or would like to talk more, I’m happy to chat it all through!

Radhika was very professional and her insight on my manuscript was the best and most thorough I have had so far. She addressed all of my concerns and was timely in her delivery, and communicated well. I would use her again in a heartbeat. Definitely recommend!

I engaged Radhika to review a WIP manuscript. I am branching into a new genre, Domestic Thriller, and wanted professional feedback on how commercial the premise and first couple of chapters were. Her feedback was super valuable to keeping me "in my lane" and focused on what the readers are looking for in this genre. Lots of valuable insights.

Wonderful experience. She returned things promptly and even gave me an extra read through because we beat the timeline. I appreciated the reorganization of my query letter since it was my first. Would use again.
