Cloe Porqueres – Designer

I'm an Art Director at Penguin Random House Grupo Editorial, with previous credits at Grupo Planeta and Abacus Cooperativa — which is a fancy way of saying I've spent the last five+ years obsessing over book covers inside some of the biggest publishing houses in Spain. I know what makes a cover work before it's even pretty: it has to stop a scroll, read well as a thumbnail, and feel instantly familiar to the reader it's meant for.

My process is collaborative and pretty painless, I promise. We start with a proper creative briefing — about your book, your reader, and what feeling you want someone to have when they pick it up. Then I bring references, ideas, and honest opinions, because I'm not here to just execute; I'm here to get it right. I work in rounds so nothing feels rushed or wasteful, and I genuinely love the tricky projects — the books that don't fit neatly into one genre box are always the most fun to design for.

I speak English, French, Spanish and Catalan, all fluently.
