ABOUT ME:

I am a professional children book illustrator ready to bring colour and life to your project. Since I went freelance 4 years ago, I have illustrated Nature’s Storybook series published by Quarto’s Wide Eyed Editions and have worked as a commercial illustrator with various international clients such as EeBoo Piece & Love (puzzle design), Resurgence & Ecologist (editorial illustration), UQ Press and Firefly Education. My style is colourful, detailed, textured and inspired by folk art and nature.

A dream project for me is one where I can enhance beautiful storytelling with illustrations that showcase the beauty of Earth & its earthlings and emphasise our responsibility as caretakers of the natural world. But I love all sorts of projects and I’m very versatile and adaptable, so I’m very much looking forward to hearing about YOUR project!

WORKING WITH ME:

I find that clear communication and deadlines are essential when working on a project. It is important that we are on the same page and working together to bring your ideas to fruition.

I will adapt my work to your budget: a larger budget and longer deadline can provide more complex interiors/cover illustrations, while shorter deadlines and a smaller budget will limit concept and complexity.

I usually divide a project into manageable sections, such as like thumbnail sketching of multiple compositions/concepts, B&W roughs, and colour finals, always leaving you room for feedback and direction.

MISC:

• I have a background in fashion design and textile: I have worked as a children wear designer after graduation, creating placement artworks and seamless pattern prints for a Dutch company
