Phillip Savill – Designer

Hi, I'm Phillip, a graphic designer with an extensive background in editorial and cover design for established and independent publishers.

Overview

I’m an accomplished London-based designer with over 30 years of experience in the publishing industry.

I specialise in book cover design and editorial layout. I collaborate with authors, businesses, publishers and agencies to create beautiful editorial content and striking covers that truly stand out.

I'm always open to working across various genres, budgets and timelines, I bring a highly versatile design background that spans fiction, biography, music, art books, photography, fashion, food, biography, travel and poetry. This adaptability allows me to explore diverse themes and styles with confidence and creativity.

What I can do for you...

COVER DESIGN

I will provide a minimum of 5 front cover concepts for you to choose from.

You’ll select the concept that best resonates with your vision, and we’ll refine that direction to perfection.

I'll provide you with print-ready and ebook-ready final files.

PROMOTIONAL ASSETS

Using elements from your cover design, I will produce various assets for you to advertise your book on social media, Amazon and your own website.

INTERIOR DESIGN – TYPESETTING (for print and ebook)

I'm also experienced with larger photo books, graphic novels and extensive guidebooks.

• Sample designs of the pages of your book layout with text styled ensuring a seamless reading experience.

• PDF proof to send to your proofreader.

• A round of corrections.

• Print-ready and ebook-ready final files.

Other things to be aware of:

Licensing: You must ensure that all pictures used are credited and licensed for use.

Fonts: The fonts I propose in my designs will be free for commercial use but if you’d like something different we can look at buying a font (with appropriate license, for a fee).

Pricing: The price quoted is based on up to 80,000 words in your entire book (including copyright page, other prelims, and any end matter). If there is a considerably larger word count in the final typeset book, an additional fee may need to be charged.

Additional terms: If our agreed timeline extends beyond three months of the initial agreement, the current offer may be subject to updates.

******

If you choose me to design your book, I promise I will do everything to help you realise your vision. We will discuss in detail what kind of approach you would like to take, what appeals to you visually, maybe look at other covers you feel are in a similar vein that we can use as a starting point and we'll find a solution that I hope will exceed your expectations and I'll always be on hand to help you through the process.

If you have any other questions please don't hesitate to ask me.
