Nina S – Editor

An accomplished non-fiction editor with four years of experience at Hachette UK, confident working across a range of genres.

Overview

I am a supportive, enthusiastic and communicative editor formerly of Weidenfeld and Nicolson and Quercus (both Hachette UK), and I have edited everything from serious prize-winning history to memoirs by social media stars. Whatever your subject, I will help you find your voice, shape your storytelling and make sure your work is as clear, polished and engaging as it can be.

Here are some kind things past authors have said about me:

‘Nina edited my second book with W&N, A Woman's Work, and I feel extremely lucky to have worked with her. Nina's enthusiasm and ambition for my book was evident from the beginning, and throughout the editing process her insight and intelligence were invaluable. Through Nina's vision, A Woman's Work was shaped into the best possible version of itself, and I am particularly appreciative of her generosity of thought and attention. Working with Nina has been a joy. As well as being a brilliant editor, Nina is a dedicated and compassionate advocate for her authors, and I cannot recommend her highly enough.’

Elinor Cleghorn, author of Unwell Women and A Woman’s Work

‘Nina edited my latest book, a complicated, 12,000-year, non-fiction narrative that required diplomatic intervention to prepare it for publication. Throughout the process, Nina has been incredibly efficient and encouraging. As an author, I trusted her judgement and valued her insights. Editing is a tricky high wire act that requires courage and clear sight. I wouldn’t hesitateto recommend Nina to fellow authors.’

Nicholas Crane, author of The Making of the British Landscape and The Path More Travelled

‘Nina was an absolute joy to work with, and her editing had a huge influence on shaping our book. Her perception for which parts of the story to highlight and how to bring them to the surface was invaluable. Her guidance on structure and tone helped the book become more focused, engaging and true to our vision.’

Jamie Tahsin, co-author of Clown World: Four Years Inside Andrew Tate’s Manosphere
