Overview
I can offer editorial management, development, copy-editing, proof-reading, fact-checking, permissions guidance and clearance, photography and photo research. I can also assist with market research and trialling.
When I went freelance, a number of my authors were very glad to have me back working with them: "A superb editor... painstaking approach to getting books right for the classroom is not something you often come across any more." (Author) "I was very pleased to hear that you would be my development editor." (Author)
I am also an avid reader of historical fiction and fantasy novels.

Badger Learning
I oversaw the growth of the publishing list from practically nothing to around 450 titles, establishing Badger’s excellent name in educational publishing. I was the sole editor, responsible for developing each project from manuscript to delivery, alongside the publisher (across a wide range of subjects). This included clearing permissions, photo research, briefing artists and designers, and also working on marketing materials and attending conferences and BETT. I worked very closely with the publisher, and often with our less experienced authors, and – as a new role – had to create processes and ways of working as I developed into the role.
