Andrea Dobbin

Andrea Dobbin – Editor

Editor and proofreader with 18+ years' experience in fiction (mystery/crime and middle-grade) and non-fiction (travel, business, memoirs).

Overview

After working for several years as an in-house editor, I have been a freelance editor and proofreader since 2008. I have edited innumerable travel guides as well as education texts, biographies and memoirs, and business, history and lifestyle books. I also work on fiction titles: I proofread many of the books in the 'Stuff Happens' middle-grade series (Penguin Random House) including 'Jack' (Tony Wilson), 'Cooper' (Justin D'Ath) and 'Ned' (Andrew Daddo), and edited several books in the Jack Rutherford and Amanda Lacey mystery series by Linda Coles. My favourite fiction genre is the cosy mystery, and I have edited or proofread many of these, including Juno Harvey's 'A Sticky Situation', 'A Pretty Pickle', and 'A Tricky Treat'.

I work on both fiction and non-fiction manuscripts, and in both digital and print media. I provide high-quality, reliable editing and proofreading services, and have worked with award-winning authors as well as first-time and emerging writers.

Off just a few messages Andrea understood what I was trying to convey and the first editorial review of my MS was spot on...she drew attention professionally to shortcomings I could not see.
