Overview
Hello, I'm Mireya! I’m an editorial professional with five years of experience in commercial fiction, specifically speculative fiction, romance, thriller, suspense, fantasy, and science fiction. I’ve spearheaded successful projects such as the romantic fantasy novel, “Sun of Blood and Ruin” by Mariely Lares, a Sunday Times bestseller, and “Bindle Punk Bruja” by Desideria Mesa, an award-winning 1920s urban fantasy novel. At William Morrow, I also contributed to highly regarded books such as “Wrong Place Wrong Time” by Gillian McAllister, “All the Duke I Need” by Caroline Linden, and “Medievally Blonde” by Cait Jacobs. Additionally, I had the opportunity to work on bestselling projects, from providing editorial notes for “Yellowface” by R. F. Kuang to creating retailer copy and reading material for numerous books. Throughout my career, I’ve had the honor to work with bestselling authors such as J. A. Jance, James Rollins, Shannon Chakraborty, R. A. Salvatore, and Julia Quinn--to name a few.
As a curious bibliophage, I’m attracted to books that transcend rigid categories and evolve into a blend of genres. I’m particularly excited for more novels that broaden the commercial lines, telling unique tales about love and human connection. I’m a sucker for fantastic character development with the perfect balance of plot-driven stakes. Furthermore, I deeply enjoy working on books that share stories often untold or underrepresented. Creating artwork is a road to vulnerability, empathy, and imagination. I strive to create a safe space for authors to grow and nurture their literary endeavors.
From developmental edits to polishing for submission/publication, I will become a valuable and versatile teammate for my clients. Their success is my success, and above all, the art and well-being take priority in my heart while helping a story transition successfully into the marketplace.
