Laura Soppelsa – Editor

Need a companion for your fantasy quest? A copilot for your space adventure? Look no further for proofreading, copyediting, and copywriting.

Overview

Are you a first-time writer not sure where to start? A fledgling author who doesn't know what the hell the difference is between proofreading and copyediting? Or maybe you're a wizened master of writing, just looking for a new adventurer on your next quest?

Whatever your level of experience, think of me as your sassy familiar, your smart-mouthed robot companion, your dry-witted partner in crime. I have a Master's Degree in Creative Writing, Publishing, and Editing; over three years' experience in the UK publishing industry; and an undying passion for all things fantastical. Most of all, I'm all about authors – putting their needs first, answering their questions, and stirring up confidence and excitement for any creative hijinks they have in store.

– Need your manuscript polished to its best shine? I've been trained in industry-standard proofreading.

_ The English language reminding you again and again that it really makes no sense? I've also trained as an industry-standard copy-editor.

– Struggling to put your vision into words? I love writing blurbs to thrill potential readers.

– Have the idea but need advice on where to start? Let me be your first cheerleader in an assessment letter.

– Things gone awry in the writing process and you need to bury a body? I've already got the shovels.

There's nothing I love more than to spend my time lost in the imaginations of people like myself, who'd happily follow a wizard through a portal to another world, no questions asked. So, if you're an author of fantasy, science-fiction, YA, or even a bit of supernatural horror, I would love to hear from you and discover what world you'd like to take me to next!

A wonderful, thoroughly professional editor who was both on time and extraordinarily helpful, combining precise and well-targeted revisions with sympathetic suggestions and comments. She explained her reasons for suggesting changes and pointed out plot holes when she found them. Couldn't be happier!
