Freelance book editor specializing in romance. I have edited historical, paranormal, contemporary, and episodic romances.
I have edited over a million words since I started working freelance for myself in 2021. My background has mostly been romance--recently I've edited a mystical Scottish romance featuring fairies and time travel, a sweet romance set in a small town, and a romantic suspense set in California. I've also just finished proofreading a Preserving Foods book for DK Publishing (Penguin Random House) so I'm able to proof in Adobe Acrobat if need be. I look forward to editing your manuscript!
--Head editor of serialized fiction for one story in the romance genre. Over 150 episodes completed so far
--Checks for continuity and gives suggestions for rewrites if needed
* At Avalon Books, I started as an Assistant Editor before becoming an Editor. I acquired, edited, and produced 30-60 titles annually. We published books geared for the library market: romance, mystery, and western genres. My boss, Erin Cartwright-Niumata and I worked with romance authors in the beginning of their careers. The most famous is Carolyn Brown, who is a top seller on the romance charts these days. Lisa Mondello and Nancy J. Parra are also now USA Today and New York Times bestselling authors.
* Managed freelance staff of copyeditors, proofreaders, and artists.
* Attended national writing conferences to give speeches and sit on panels
* I worked for the Hospitality, Tourism, and Culinary Arts Department. We produced books for the professional chef like Professional Cooking by Wayne Gisslen.
At Leisure Books/Love Spell, I worked with authors like Connie Mason, Leigh Greenwood, etc. and the genres of Romance, Horror, and Westerns. I evaluated manuscripts, worked with authors, and wrote back cover copy. Our book covers had Fabio on the cover!
