Megan Sheer

Megan Sheer – Designer

Experienced, versatile and very friendly book designer. I create eye catching covers and attractive, readable internals. I love what I do!

Overview

Hi, I'm Megan. I'm a UK-based designer with over 15 years' experience, specialising in book covers and interior design. I've worked in a variety of genres and for a variety of clients – indy authors, small publishing houses and well-known multinational publishers.

I studied literature alongside my media degree and my own love of books has helped inform and inspire me as a designer. I understand the business of publishing a book but also the art. I appreciate how important each client's work is to them and can help bring your vision to your audience effectively.

I pride myself in my personalised approach and have had great feedback across the board. Here are some examples:

"I can't say enough good about how it looks. It's absolutely drop-dead gorgeous! We are so thrilled!! Thank you for all of the hard work that went into this project and for bringing it to life" – Authors, Recreating Titanic

"Megan always produces the goods – whether it's typesetting, book cover or complex internal book design – reliable, quality work with a fast turnaround." – Katie Beard, Head of Design, The History Press Publishing.

"Megan typeset and designed the cover of my publishing company’s first book. Her work was first-rate and reasonably priced, and she was a pleasure to deal with. I shall be back for the second and third books." – Martin Hickman, Managing Director, Canbury Press

"I have been repeatedly impressed by the quality, range and consistency of Megan's work. I know that when I send a book on to Megan, it is in safe hands. Combined with her talent as a book designer, her flexibility and reliability are equally impressive. Megan has been fantastic to work with and I could not recommend her enough." – Stephanie Boner, Publishing Director, Roads Publishing.

Megan helped me out so much with this cookbook, I couldn't have asked for a better designer, and this was my first time using Reedsy! She always responded back to me right away and sent over my pages quickly. She helped make the process of creating this cookbook so much easier. Megan designed my cookbook just the way I wanted it to look like and I love how it turned out!

Megan did a fabulous job on my book! Her creativity, responsiveness, and patience with feedback exceeded every expectation—she went above and beyond to turn my manuscript into something truly special. Can't recommend her enough. In fact, I'll be sending her name to multiple friends who are working on books currently. Thank you Megan! :)

Megan was prompt, professional and a great person to partner with on my book. It was a slightly unusual project that I asked her to do: match the ebook and internal print design that another designer had done on the rest of my series. She did the work quickly, was very communicative and did all the revisions and tweaks I asked for, which was really fantastic service. She also made some suggesti...
