Megan Sheer

Megan Sheer – Designer

15+ years experience, hundreds of books designed! Versatile, friendly book designer. Eye-catching covers and attractive, readable internals.

Overview

Hi, I'm Megan. I'm a UK-based designer with over 15 years' experience, specialising in book covers and interiors. I've worked in a variety of genres and for a variety of clients – indie authors, small publishing houses and well-known multinational publishers.

I studied literature alongside my media degree and my own love of books has helped inform and inspire me as a designer. I understand the business of publishing a book but also the art. I appreciate how important each client's work is to them and can help bring your vision to your audience effectively.

I pride myself in my personalised approach and have had great feedback across the board. Here are some examples:

"I can't say enough good about how it looks. It's absolutely drop-dead gorgeous! We are so thrilled!! Thank you for all of the hard work that went into this project and for bringing it to life" – Authors, Recreating Titanic

"Megan always produces the goods – whether it's typesetting, book cover or complex internal book design – reliable, quality work with a fast turnaround." – Katie Beard, Head of Design, The History Press Publishing.

"Megan typeset and designed the cover of my publishing company’s first book. Her work was first-rate and reasonably priced, and she was a pleasure to deal with. I shall be back for the second and third books." – Martin Hickman, Managing Director, Canbury Press

"I have been repeatedly impressed by the quality, range and consistency of Megan's work. I know that when I send a book on to Megan, it is in safe hands. Combined with her talent as a book designer, her flexibility and reliability are equally impressive. Megan has been fantastic to work with and I could not recommend her enough." – Stephanie Boner, Publishing Director, Roads Publishing.

Megan is great. Her attention to detail is out of this world - and I *love* that. An additional bonus is Megan's creativity with layout - real typesetting skill. We've worked together previously and I've been happy to recommend Megan's services to friends and colleagues (all of whom have been delighted).
