Leslie Patrick – Editor

Passionate editor offering editorial assessment and developmental editing services, also a travel writer and a NYT bestselling author

Overview

Are you looking for a passionate editor to help take your novel to the next level?

My name is Leslie. I’m a seasoned editor and I would love to work with you to help you polish and perfect your manuscript.

I specialize in developmental editing and editorial assessments for fiction books, mainly in the epic fantasy and thriller genres. I have also edited historical fiction, romance, travel guides, self-help, and more.

I will work with you on a personal level, with the goal of helping you improve the quality of your manuscript. Together we will establish your goal, vision, and timeline for your book, then I will provide holistic feedback that will help you take your book to the next level.

My feedback style is personal, honest, and constructive to ensure you have the tools and information you need to revise your draft with confidence. I'm a detail-oriented, dedicated, and organized person who reveres deadlines and communication. A strong publishing professional, I hold Bachelor of Arts degrees focused in English, History, and Marketing.

In addition to working as a fiction editor for indie authors during my 12+ years in the publishing industry, I’ve worked as a travel writer and editor for major print and online publications including Lonely Planet and National Geographic, co-written and edited a guidebook for Fodor’s Travel, been published in Elizabeth Gilbert’s New York Times Bestselling anthology "Eat Pray Love Made Me Do It," and written three historical novels and two non-fiction books about travel writing.

Although I’m California-born, I’m currently based in Norwich, England with my writer and editor husband and our three rescue fur babies. I love hiking, yoga, and traveling, and I have an insatiable fascination with medieval and Tudor history.

Thanks for stopping by, and I look forward to working with you soon!

Leslie has an eye for detail and honed in on the scenes that I had changed in the novel and encouraged me to go back ...
