Overview

Hi, I'm Erin, nonfiction book coach and editor. I specialize in editing books in the genres of memoir, self-help, personal development, alternative spirituality, holistic wellness, and client-attracting books that help writers market transformative services.

I don't work on Christian books.

My goal is to help you craft a clear, compelling, meaningful reading experience so you can powerfully connect with your reader.

SERVICES

I offer developmental editing, editorial assessment, copyediting, and proofreading services.

To the novice writer: these are all vital stages of the editing process and proceed in a certain order to accomplish specific editing tasks. I have listed them above in the order in which they are completed.

For example, requesting a copy edit should mean that your manuscript has already received either a developmental edit or an editorial assessment which you then used to revise your manuscript for organization, flow, clarity, completeness, and concision to ready it for copy editing.

And requesting proofreading should mean that your manuscript has already been developmentally edited, revised by you based on the edit, copyedited for grammar and syntax errors, and reviewed by you to accept or decline the editor's copy corrections.

If your manuscript hasn't been professionally edited yet at all, begin with requesting a developmental edit or an editorial assessment. An editorial assessment assesses the manuscript for organization, flow, clarity, completeness, and effectiveness in meaningfully speaking to your reader. A developmental edit does the same and also similarly analyzes each chapter of your manuscript.

TESTIMONIALS

“Erin is an editing wizard! We clicked from the start. She helped me fine-tune the purpose of my book and the most appropriate target audience. This was great as it was actually different than I’d originally thought. She really got me. She pulled more details from me to clarify the meaning of certain passages. She moved text around to improve the flow. She validated my intuition by keeping the first chapter as the first chapter when others thought it should be something else. I'm so happy that Erin showed up when she did. I will definitely use her for book #2 and beyond.”

~ Jo Ann Richards, author of Midlife Magic, a memoir

"Erin is an editor with deep insight and vision. She helped me find the underlying themes in my writing, articulating and clarifying the meaning I was working to express. Erin's questions guided me to more fully develop my writing, from establishing clearer continuity in the plot of my story to identifying the purpose of each word. She carefully examines the details while understanding the work as a whole, ensuring there is cohesion and integrity from the first page to the last."

~ Tony Wass, author of Little Drummer Boy, a memoir

May, 2020 — Present

Since 2020, I have been helping creative nonfiction writers write books that shine! I've copyedited for publishers Redleaf Press and Familius, worked with full-service publishing company Book Launchers as a writing coach and content editor, and served as a managing editor for VoiceCatcher, an online literary journal of poetry, prose, and art by women of the Pacific Northwest. In June 2023, I co-authored and published international Amazon best-seller, Get Published: Industry Experts Share Their Secrets, in which I shared how I coach writers through my Master Plan book coaching program. In July 2023, LA Weekly named me as one of their 15 Book Coaches to Watch in 2023. In October of 2023, I worked with Inspired Hearts Publishing to edit their forthcoming anthology and in September and October, I worked with Hille House Publishing by offering a 4-week writing seminar to their latest cohort of writers.

Erin Lund is excellent. First off, she worked with my budget and was patient through some delays I had. She was responsive to my every message and additional questions and even went as far as creating an Intro template which I absolutely needed. Her edits were very detailed, honest and helpful. Not only did Erin point out what to correct but she also explained why I needed to correct it. I feel...
