Overview
I’m a non-fiction editor, excited to be freelancing after over a decade working in-house. For the past eight years, I’ve been a Commissioning Editor and Editor at Ebury, Penguin Random House, where I worked on leading self-development, health, memoir, wellbeing, spirituality / MBS, parenting and neurodivergence books, including Sunday Times bestsellers like The Signs by Dr Tara Swart and Raising the SEN-Betweeners by Lisa Lloyd, as well as Amazon chart-toppers like Charlotte Stirling-Reed’s parenting books and How to Thrive with Adult ADHD by Dr James Kustow.
Whether you’re a seasoned author, a new writer or an expert in another field with an idea for a book, I would love to work with you. Careful developmental editing has always been one of my favourite parts of publishing, so if you would like an experienced editor to get close to your manuscript and its structure with you, to make it the best it can be, I can help. If you’re at an earlier stage, I can bring a commercial eye and a good understanding of non-fiction audiences to help you develop your idea, proposal or sample, to ready it for a publisher or agent. Having worked with many first-time authors, I know how effective good quality feedback can be, but how important it is that it’s delivered sensitively too. I like to take a curious, empathetic and positive approach, so that together we can make your proposal or manuscript live up to your vision.
