Overview
I’m a copy editor with more than 25 years of professional editorial experience, including more than 140 academic books. My clients have included SUNY Press, Cambridge University Press, University of Pennsylvania Press, and Greenwood Press. I specialize in book-length nonfiction manuscripts, especially in history, political science, sociology, philosophy, education, religion, and cultural studies. I’m highly experienced with Chicago, APA, MLA, AP, and AMA style, and I’m comfortable working with complex notes, references, bibliographies, and publisher-specific style requirements.
My goal is to help authors make their work clearer, cleaner, and more consistent while preserving their voice and argument. I’m thorough, practical, and calm under deadline pressure, and I know how much work goes into a manuscript before it reaches an editor. Authors can expect careful attention to clarity, grammar, consistency, citations, style, and readability, without unnecessary rewriting or heavy-handed changes.
