Overview
I have worked in the book publishing industry for the past 14 years, spanning from print to digital, from publicity to project management and managing editorial. In addition to my lifelong love of books, this work experience has given me an intricate understanding of the book creation and publishing process that helps me to keep in mind the overarching picture of a book's life as well as the nitty-gritty details of its pages.
Now as a proofreader, I have taken my knowledge of and love for books and turned them back where they belong, on the words and ideas themselves and how I can help to make them shine the absolute brightest. I currently serve clients including W. W. Norton and Company, Beacon Press, Union Square, MIT, and others. I specialize in cookbooks and literary fiction with additional experience in nonfiction (history, memoir/biography). I am a diligent, clear, and thoughtful commenter who will meet or beat any deadline I accept. I'm flexible with author/editorial preferences (though you can pry the Oxford comma from my cold, dead hands). I pride myself on finding the mistakes that may have slipped through the cracks during the creative process but over which you’d be kicking yourself if they made it into print. I set the curve in my grad school copyediting class and former classmates still haven't forgiven me for it; find out why for yourself!
