Hello! I’m Ines, a book layout designer & typesetter with an education and professional background in publishing of over 10 years. I started freelancing in 2019, providing support to independent authors in both print and eBook projects.
I work on novels, poetry, and narrative nonfiction books, creating clean and minimal page layouts that follow typesetting best practices and match publishing standards. Have a look at my gallery for some examples!
We can work together on a custom page layout for your book, I can also provide guidance with structuring the front and back matter sections if you are a first-time author. In case you wish for your book to be professionally formatted but don’t require custom typesetting, or don't have the budget for it, I can give you a selection of different elements to choose from (examples of page layouts, and formatting options). You will be able to then mix and match the elements to your liking for the creation of your book interior.

As a book interior designer, I offer typesetting services for independent authors. I design the interior pages of a book, according to genre and printer’s specifications, and prepare all final files needed for both print and eBook publication. My work process is based on my previous experience working in the publishing industry in-house. I value collaboration, optimism, expertise, and high quality service.

As a Desktop Publishing Lead, I typeset and managed the production of documents and manuals for printing in different languages, for national and international life science companies. Adapting the format and design elements to each type of publication was one of my main tasks, always following rigorous standards due to the technical nature of the content.

I worked as a proofreader and design assistant for a magazine under the imprint of this publishing house. I proofread all articles in their final form, and assisted the lead designer with implementing last changes to the text and page layout.
Grupo Almedina
My role as the publishing assistant included all organisational work for the production of books: from translation and editing, to design and printing, as well as marketing and sales. I was involved in all stages of publication, overseeing the process of transforming a manuscript into a ready-to-publish book.
