Overview
I've been designing books for over 20 years and have worked with both major publishers internationally as well as indie authors and small presses.
I have worked on every imaginable genre (Cookbooks, Art/Photography/Architecture, Self-help, Business, Thrillers, Fantasy, Memoirs, Biographies, Young Adult Fiction and Children's books, Poetry, Sci-fi, Mystery, Crime, Short Stories, Literary Fiction, Series and Collections, Scholarly/Educational/Academic, and both Contemporary and Classic Fiction and non-fiction, etc) and enjoy a wide range of international clients that have exposed me to every aspect of the publishing process and endlessly fascinating topics and stories. Some of my favorite books to work on are large format photography-driven books with many moving parts like pulled quotes, sidebars, and creative editorial and narrative elements.
I'm fluid in all aspects of the book design publishing process from concept development and design, to press checks, epub and audiobook creation, and dealing with artists, editors, art directors, and authors directly. The depth of my knowledge of the industry proves to be a great asset in helping budding authors get their bearings as well as easily slide into working with major publishers worldwide. I like assisting indie authors to get their books published on platforms such as KDP, Ingram, and any other service they are using.
I have traveled extensively throughout my career, have a pulse on international publishing, and bring that diverse worldview and energy into my work.
Designing a book is like telling a story. You want to keep the reader engaged, entertained, and interested. A good book design, both the cover and interiors, should do the same. A book is also a work of art. It's an object that adorns on a shelf and people are shaped by the books they have read. A professionally designed book is immensely vital to a book's success. Be it fiction or non-fiction, a book should be engaging, memorable, and above all, appropriately designed for its content.
I look forward to capturing the essence of your book and giving it the attention it deserves.
