Overview

I am a self-employed copyeditor/line editor and proofreader who enjoys working with new as well as established Christian authors. My specialty is adult inspirational/nonfiction, including devotionals, Christian living, Charismatic/Pentecostal, fivefold/ascension gifts, prayer, and inner healing and deliverance.

Of utmost importance to me is maintaining the author's voice while helping them deliver their message to their readers. I look beyond the simple mechanics of grammar and punctuation to examine individual words and phrases for clarity and potentially inaccurate nuances. Often, I will suggest alternate wording that may better express what the author is trying to convey. In this way, I work closely with my clients to help them craft their best possible work.

Since 2016 I've edited and proofread nearly three dozen titles for Pearson, Crossroad Publishing,
Anaiah Press, and 5 Fold Media as well as self-publishing authors. My prior editing experience includes eight years as a newspaper editor and four years as an assistant editor for an e-commerce web content provider.

I hold a Bachelor of Arts in English from the University at Buffalo and settled in Syracuse, NY, after graduation. Upstate New York has always been my home: I enjoy living about two hours from the breathtaking beauty of the Adirondacks, the Finger Lakes, and Niagara Falls. When I'm not editing, I'm either exploring global food traditions in the kitchen (especially Indian and Thai), taking a day trip, going hiking or camping, or serving at my church (I was ordained as a prophet in 2020 and am active in intercession and deliverance and inner healing ministries).

My current editorial assistant is Stewie, a precocious cat with an abiding passion for soft treats and the Christian Writer's Manual of Style.

Loving for Real: An Honest Book for Youth

Pierre Herve Grosjean

Fr. Grosjean has listened intensely to youth, and in engaging ways speaks to the heart of love, both a gift from God, and a challenge. This book stands out because it speaks directly to the practice of love, and so its text is simple but powerful.

Enchanting the World: The Vision of 20th Century Catholic Authors

James D. Whitehead, Evelyn Eaton Whitehead

Art and literature are in the business of enchantment. When we are enchanted, we are captivated by some part of life—whether it be the fragile charm of the week-old infant or the force of a waterfall that takes our breath away. Enchantment—like the vital energy of Eros—defies definition. Poetry more often finds the words for this phenomenon. This book opens a window into the rich writings of C... read more

Gina was prompt and responsive and gave very valuable feedback. This is my first self-publishing project, so I relied on her expertise regarding style, formatting standards, and copyright permissions. Best of all, she was interactive and very kind and supportive throughout the process. I felt she had sincere interest in not just my project, but in me as a person and an author.
