Overview
I'm an editor, ghostwriter, and author with over 20 years of professional publishing experience. I believe that story is at the heart of what it means to be human, and story is the key to making any book—even a self-help handbook—sing.
My wheelhouse is middle grade fiction and nonfiction, but I have written and/or edited hundreds of books for readers of all ages, including picture books, middle grade novels, choose-your-own adventure-style novels, self-help books (for grown-ups and for kids), histories, biographies, short stories, fractured fairy tales, and . . . well, you name it. I even edited a novel about a bowl of chili that comes to life. My broad range of clients has included countless independent authors, Free Spirit Publishing, Capstone Press, Lerner Books, Darby Creek, Book Bridge Press, and Hazelden Publishing. My ghostwriting projects are under non-disclosure agreements, so I can't share titles, but I have ghosted books under contract with St. Martin's Press, Rowman & Littlefield, and others.
Besides words, I love punk bands, Ultraman, campervans, and skater Vans. What do I love even more? Mountain biking and camping, sometimes at the same time (but I never go into the woods without a notebook and pen). The only poem I’ve had published was titled “Braunschweiger Song.” It was about braunschweiger.
After more than two decades of making books, I remain fascinated by stories and love to work with clients to help them tell theirs, whether as an author, editor, book coach, or ghostwriter. I’d love to hear your story.
Please note that...
...titles in portfolio include books I've authored or ghosted as well as books I've edited, with a focus on more recent books but some older ones thrown in to show range.
...several middle grade novels I've edited were published independently, and their books are not available on commercial markets such as Amazon. I include covers in the image gallery below.
