Overview
"Emily is amazing. It was a bit of a leap to trust my first writing project with someone I knew very little about. What a gift she turned out to be! She was responsive, respectful of my work, and offered wonderful suggestions that truly improved my piece. I'm so glad Reedsy introduced us!"
-- Tom Wambaugh, author of "Retirement for Young People"

I'm Emily Price Soli, nonfiction editor for subject-matter experts. I've partnered with over 100 authors and multiple presses to shepherd manuscripts toward publication, and I'd love for yours to be next.
I work with authors who know their stuff--and who want to communicate with clarity and verve. Perhaps youโve spent years studying the human psyche, refining a trademark method thatโs transformed clientsโ lives, or researching the topic that fascinates you most. Whatever your passion is, it needs to be translated in a form that will be accessible to readers. And that's where I come in.
I offer a range of services tailored to your manuscript's needs, ranging from book development to the final touches. These services include:
๐ Editorial assessment (starts at $0.02/word): A high-level analysis of your book's structure, writing style, freshness, market potential, comprehensiveness, target audience, and more. I'll also offer clear recommendations for revision.
๐ Line and copyediting (starts at $0.026/word): A line-level edit addressing sentence structure, flow, grammar, correctness, reader engagement, stylistic consistency, and more. I'll aim to preserve your voice while clarifying your copy.
๐ Proofreading (starts at $0.015/word): The final edit of the interior book files prior to publication, addressing the majority of typos and remaining errors.
If you're ready to share your lifeโs work with a broad audience, I'll help you bridge the gap between deep expertise and engaging storytelling. Send me a request and we'll get started.
