I was a kid who loved books and made hand-drawn designs to garnish his own stories, tape recordings and school notebooks. Years later, that fixation became a permanent side source of income while developing a full-time career in advertising design. Today, cover art making is my main activity and joy.

Having some art direction background and a wide variety of graphic skills (Illustration, lettering, Photography, 3D), I may take different approaches for each proyect and I switch techniques according to genre, target reader and author preferences. However, the genres I get asked about more often are Crime, Gothic Fiction, Horror, Poetry, Literary, Young Readers and Middle Grade. If there´s anything I can say about my work is that, regardless of style or techniques used, I put most of my focus on achieving a solid composition and a captivating overall impact.

As for how will I approach your book if we work together: it´s no new thing to say that communication is key. Wether you have a detailed idea or you´re completely clueless on what you want, we will talk before, during and after the main concept is stated to your liking. From sketching stage to fine detailing, you´ll participate as much as you are up to. In the end, I´ll put all my efforts in distilling your story into an beautiful image that truly speaks for the book.

Diego was the superhero that I needed. I am about to publish my first book and I had already gone through other designers on other platforms that did not meet my expectations. I am grateful to know this platform and Diego. He did an excellent job showing me different ideas for my book, he was also very patient with all the changes and suggestions I asked for. He made all the changes for my book...

Diego was a joy to work with. I had almost no idea of what I wanted from the cover art, but I liked his portfolio so I left it up to him. He gave me multiple sketches and colors to choose from at every stage of the design, including lots of things I never considered, and integrated my feedback quickly. The sketches were detailed, and helped me to learn as much about what I didn't want as what ...

When I first joined Reedsy, I must admit that I was concerned about choosing a person who would help me work on my self-published book. After much research, I chose Diego. And I am more than glad that I did. Diego and I got along just fine. He suggested ways to make my book better without undermining my creativity. His illustration background and experience enhanced the whole project. He came...
