Debbie Moyes – Editor

Although I'm new to Reedsy, I'm a veteran of the editing world. I understand that crafting a book is more than just writing the words; it's taking a story from the basics to an immersive tale that sucks readers into its world. With many years of experience working at various publishing houses, I pride myself on being able to not just help the book evolve, but to also teach the author skills that will elevate their level of storytelling for years to come.

Having written seven novels myself, I'm no stranger to what it takes to complete a book. I know from experience that, for authors, a story is a heartfelt connection with their characters and world. It's an emotional tie hard to explain. My ability to understand that very concept has made me especially good at making sure the author's vision and voice continue uninterrupted.

Over the years, I have worked with fiction of nearly every genre (I don't do erotic), as well as many aspects of non-fiction. Sci-fi, fantasy, and YA are especially an interest of mine, though I also have extensive experience with much more.

Many of my clients have gone on to sign with publishing houses and literary agencies, as well as winning local and national awards. It's always fun to walk into Barnes & Noble and see one of their books featured! I am pleased to have a history of happy clients who can back up my experience:
