+Received a coveted "Starred Review" from Kirkus.
My clients love that I have a well-structured process that is proven to work. I have several clients who have done multiple books with me, an excellent sign of satisfaction with the process and the results. I've also had feedback from many clients that they really like my relaxed but thorough interviewing style.
My typical process is this (although I have customized it in certain situations):
We do 2 or 3 calls of 2 hours each to set-up the book. I create a Book Blueprint for the author to review and approve.
Using the Blueprint as a guide, we then have 5 to 7 calls of 2 hours each to talk through all the content of your book. Basically, this is about interviewing you to get all the content that's inside your head transferred into mine.
Next, I go away for about 6 to 8 weeks and create a full manuscript draft.
You then review the draft and we begin the revisions process. This typically involves about 5 calls of 2 hours each where we go through the manuscript in sections. Authors are required to prepare for each call by going through a section of the manuscript in detail and making notes and feedback for us to review during the calls.
At the end of that process, you have a complete, professional manuscript ready to go through the publishing process.
Summary: All you have to do is get "on the train" (follow the process), and when we reach the last stop, you've got an elite-quality manuscript ready to go. It just plain works. My clients enjoy the feeling that comes with a crystal clear process that is communicated to them every step of the way.
