This Bumpy Road

Should I work to submit this to the competition? Comment 🫶🏻 if yes:) Cold air, old roads. Used to love this town with life, but now I don’t. Used to know this street with heart, now there’s bumps in the road. Used to call this road home, now I need to find house. I hate this bumpy road. Why’d they pave it anyway? The dirt was molded so wonderfully. Once it was. Once it was perfect. Once everything was right here. Why’d they change my path when it was once so smooth? I used to know my way home. Now, I’m lost at sea Finding dande...

Princess For A Day (Forbidden Land of Aldoria #2]

Zoey’s Note: Hey guys! If you haven’t already, make sure to read Part 1, The Book Freak (link is in the comments). As always make sure to leave helpful feedback:) I love you all! My eyes shift from side to side around this new world, unsure of what to look at first. The purple sky, the black grass, or the dead trees? Everything seems too unrealistic to be nonfiction, but it’s definitely real; I’ve already asked the elder woman in front of me if she could pinch me about ten times now; I still haven’t woken up. Awesome, the hot voice in my m...

World of Yesterday (WoT Sequel)

Zoey’s Note: Hey guys! I hope that you’ve all had a great summer and have an even better fall. Since the spooky season is coming up, I decided it’s about time I get started on a “World of Tomorrow” Sequel. It is a little bit graphic so do not read past the Trigger Warning if you have problems with any of the things listed. I do not write curse words or anything explicit in my stories (though maybe a couple innuendos). I hope you enjoy the story, and please go check out part one! Be sure to leave honest feedback, good or bad. Love you all! h...

The Amazing Procrastinator

TRIGGER WARNING: MILDLY GRAPHIC VIOLENCE, ZOMBIES, AND DISMEMBERED LIMBS “Whatever, we can just do it later, right?” I shrug, "we've got plenty of time!" Kit looks at me as if I had just brutally murdered six-thousand people directly in front of her. “Garrett, this is the end of the world we’re talking about,” she sputters, “we can’t just ‘do it later’!” “Sure we can,” I yawn, “we waited a long time before we stopped the end of the world last week!” “Yeah, and what happened to your hand then?” Kit asks, eyebrow raised. “Okay, sure my hand w...

World of Tomorrow

*Zoey’s Note* Hey guys! There’s too many words in this story to add a note, but please go look at the comments when you are done reading:) TW: Graphic Descriptions Of Blood, Missing People, Scary Stuff, clowns, and some near death experiences “Mom, I told you that I don't want to go,” I whine, “you know how much I hate it there!“ “Oh, it'll be fun, Dragen, stop acting like such a big baby,“ my mother groans, rolling her eyes. “But it’s the-“ I protest. “No “but”s except for yours out the door,” she interrupts, “we are going to the circus!” ...

Leave A Light On

Weekly Contest #92

*Zoey’s Note* Hey guys! So for this week’s Reedsy, I’m going to be discussing a topic that may be a little bit darker for most of you: depression. I’ve been coping with serious mental illnesses like depression, anxiety, social anxiety, and trauma since fourth grade, and I feel like I just need to spread awareness. This story is meant to help others who feel like they have nothing to live for and no one to turn to to assure them that they are not alone; no one is. At least one person is experiencing something similar to what you’re going thro...

The Book Freak (#1 in "Forbidden Aldoria" series)

*Zoey’s note* Hello people of Reedsy! I’m back! Geez, it seems like forever since I’ve posted anything on here! In case you didn’t read my old bio, I had to take a break from posting stories because my mental health and grades were both really bad, so I kind of just needed to take a break to become a little healthier for myself. I hope you all understand! I sadly lost many followers during my break, but I also gained a few so that makes me very happy! Thanks so much to those of you who are still following me, you have no idea how much I love...

B&B: Bed & Besties (Analise’s POV)

*Zoey’s note* This is a collab with my newfound bestie, Nainika Gupta! She’s such a fun person to talk to, she’s an amazing author and a HUGE inspiration to me, so you should go follow her! We’ve had so much fun writing this together, and we’re excited to be sharing it with all of you. Hope you all enjoy it! https://blog.reedsy.com/creative-writing-prompts/author/nainika-gupta/ This was not how I had expected my perfect vacation to go. First off, I’m freaking double-booked with some girl from New York! Second off, the girl who had ever so ...

My Little Island

Weekly Contest #83

I take one final glance at the large, golden orb of holy light standing alone in between the misty, cotton candy skies. She waves goodbye to the world before finally disappearing behind the wonders of the curious blue depths of the ocean, where she rests. I feel the soft, little particles of brown sand embracing my small, tanned feet like Earth's own giant blanket. I walk silently and gently over to her beautiful blue waters as they rush to the top of the shore, dampening my toes. I take one last whiff of the salty air that I can almost ta...

Hey, Siri

Weekly Contest #82

It all begins on what seems like the loveliest spring day, when the monster first strikes. I'm standing barefoot on the damp green grass filming a TikTok video on my shiny, brand new iPhone, until suddenly my screen just turns pitch black. I feel like crying. "No," I whine, "I just charged it!" "Well, maybe try charging it again," Dominique shrugs, sitting cross-legged on a red plaid tarp, "sometimes phones will glitch. It's really nothing to worry about." Dominique has been my ride-or-die since diapers, though I have a large group of friend...
