I patiently wait beneath the tree where we met for the first time nearly a decade ago. It is a maple tree, tall and majestic. It is the season of autumn, so the foliage is a rich red, like a deep red sunset. This tree is in a quiet clearing at my favorite park. There is a small pond on the other side of the trail.
