I was headed back to work at the paper after lunch break, (some break, eat and run). Anyway, I was on the run back to my desk and just got sat down, when the editor called me into his office. This cannot be good I thought, but in I went to a usually surly and grim faced boss.Don't get me wrong, I liked what a do. A roving reporter is better than stuck behind a desk all day. And most of the time Jeff our editor liked my stories. But there were those few times that I would get a grunt, a moan, and then everything that was wrong with my article...
My name is Robert Donaldson, and I live in the little town of Alman Iowa. The town boasts of 520 people and if you count the dogs, perhaps 540. Anyway, I have lived here my whole life with or near my parents and my uncle, who owns the local grocery store. I say near my parents because when I graduated Alman High School, I wanted to work and get out on my own. I am working at the grocery store and I have my own place, so I guess I got those two covered. I remember this day like it was yesterday, and yet this happened 2 years ago, right after...

This was supposed to be a typical day for Janet. Her day to day work at the Community Clinic was rewarding, but at times very routine. Janet was not a routine person. She liked to shake things up in her life, but being in need of a steady income she took this job so she wouldn't be dependent on other people or agencies. She enjoyed the people she worked with and all the patients that came in. And since Snowtown was a small community, she knew just about everyone, and everyone knew her. The weather was always constant, and usually predictable...

It seemed like since High School, Jason and Richard were always competing against each other for something, It probable didn't help that they both were competitive in their own right.Whatever the contest did not matter. They both wanted to be on the top of the heap. Bowling, skiing, tennis, cooking, it did not make a difference. Some have said that they would compete for who loaded up the grocery basket the fastest if there was a contest for it. And what was to come next was no exception. The mayor, Mayor Beck announced that a scavenger hunt ...
Who would have thought in a million years that a stranger in town who dressed like a hobo, torn jacket, and didn't smell the greatest would end up being someone that would turn my life back on track. I had just lost my job that I was working at for the last 15 years. I realize that I am still young sort of , but the thought of starting over again did not appeal to me right now. Especially when I did not know what or where I was going to look for work.I didnt blame the company, just another product of out of date equipment, not near the custo...

It had been over 20 years that Steve had been working for the local clothing store in the little town of Carrieville. Steve loved the town and the people, and was a great place to settle and work in. But this day was to be a life changing moment, and the owner Peter decided to sell the store and retire.Mr. Willis, I have been working for you since I was in high school, and I can't imagine working anyplace else. Peter looked intently at Steve and spoke sincerely, I know Steve, but its time for me to move on too, Since my wife passed on it jus...
