My throat closed up stifling the scream that tried to escape in horror. She was there. Then she wasn’t. The little girl fell off the platform onto tracks when the murder of crow flew up and scared her. She’s gone. I take a deep breath, gritting my teeth, trying to force the air in my ears to block out the screams of the mother looking down at what I imagine is the gruesome seen of her daughter being electrocuted.
