Adam was trying to find supplies among the nuclear ravaged city. He was trying to find ammunition, medicine, food, and water. They were running short on supplies and his sister needed it badly. He went to the old hospital which was firebombed months ago by the enemy. He hoped he could find supplies in the basement where he had already found hidden pockets of first aid kits and water.
