Bare Bones One day, my skin peeled off like an orange. It was a Tuesday, I believe. I had just eaten soup—slightly too salty—and as I dabbed my chin, my napkin snagged, pulling away a reddish spiral of skin. It curled like a ribbon, making my empty bowl almost festive.
