Bellowing wind blows mercilessly against my window shield in a futile attempt to hold me back; raindrops like bullets plummet down from the heavens above but their desperate cries are drowned out by the adrenalin which pulses through my veins. Upon hearing the countdown to the New Year, I can't help but recall what my mum said to me earlier today, "When the countdown starts, I want you to remember everything that you're thankful for happening this year".
