I'm passionate about pulp short fiction, particularly writers like Richard Matheson, Harlan Ellison, Robert E. Howard, and H.P. Lovecraft.
I'm not looking to create a pastiche of writers from the 1930s through the 1960s. My hope is to capture the vibrancy and immediacy of authors who explored the nature of genre and archetypal characters.
I love how these writers could hop between genres without ever losing their distinctive voices.
I also want to bring pulp fiction into the modern age. There's a lot of racism, sexism, and homophobia in the old pulps, and that's not really my bag. Keeping the good while excising the bad is important to me. I think it's perfectly fine to have characters behave as people would have at the time, but I don't think the author should collude with those characters to express their own prejudices.
So, if you follow my work here, you can expect suspense, mystery, and adventure.
