The sea was there, and even though she could only see it, that sliver of greyish blue barely visible from the kitchen window, it was nevertheless still reassuring in its presence. Reassuring to know that it stretched much further down past the roofs of her neighbours, past the entirety of Craig’s Street and past anything she had ever seen from her window.
