Kristin McGlothlin was the Assistant Curator of Education at the Norton Museum of Art and the Docent Coordinator at the Fort Lauderdale Museum of Art. She has a B.A. in Art History with a Minor in English and a B.A. and M.A. in English. McGlothlin’s first novel DRAWING WITH WHITMAN won the 2019 Moonbeam Silver Medal and the 2020 Readers’ Favorite International Honorable Mention. Her second book LISTEN received the 2021 Moonbeam Silver Medal for Pre-Teen Fiction. The third book COUNTRY OF THE BIRCH TREES received stellar reviews, including from Kirkus Reviews and the Newbery Honor childrens book novelist Rodman Philbrick. Her series combines art, music, culture, and contemporary issues. Around the world children own her books from England and Belgium to Laos and Nepal. McGlothlin is currently writing a pilot for an animated kids series called CAT’S MOUNTAIN.
