I am relieved when he moves and I realise he is holding a torch as the beam drops down from my eyes. “Can you see me?” He asks “Yes.” I say, after a few seconds. I can see many things, which is new. “Good. Good. I’m uh.. I’m Mateo. Sorry I had to shine that in your face just now” I don’t say anything. I am not sure what to say...
