Hi friends, my name is Jaclyn. At the heart of my work is a simple belief: “One day at a time. Gently. Simply.”, a philosophy inspired by the French phrase “Prends la vie un jour à la fois, bonnement.”
In my day-to-day life, I am a wife to a truly special man and a mother to three remarkable young men. I also serve as a certified ADA Coordinator and as Vice Chair of a local citizens’ disability advisory committee, roles that continually deepen my understanding of dignity, inclusion, and compassion in everyday life.
I do not write from a place of having everything figured out. I am practicing this way of living too, learning imperfectly to take life un jour à la fois, bonnement. The phrase was shared with me by a French Canadian nun during a season when I was tired and breathless, and I have carried it with me ever since, returning to it whenever life begins to feel overwhelming.
My hope is that when you read my work, it offers you a place to slow down, to breathe, and to step away from the noise of the world for a little while, a quiet space where you can simply be.
