Hi, I’m Harvey Moreno… writer, creative tinkerer, Fort Worth dad, and lifelong nerd who finally decided to stop letting ideas pile up like laundry and start putting them out into the world. I’m entering writing contests weekly, partly out of ambition and partly because at this point my drafts are staging a coup and need somewhere to go.
I run Fancy Pants Studios, a tiny-but-chaotic creative umbrella where I publish books, build worlds, design tabletop projects, and 3D-print more monsters than any one household probably needs. I’ve been a storyteller since the early 90s, when I started DMing for my friends and realized that making things up on purpose was way more fun than pretending to know algebra.
I’ve also got five kids ranging from “toddler tornado” to “nearly old enough to buy their own groceries,” so my life is basically a rotating cast of small humans, spilled snacks, and story notebooks shoved into weird places. Somewhere in there, the writing became the throughline that kept everything stitched together.
My work leans character-first and a little self-aware… equal parts heart, humor, and the occasional eyebrow raise at how bizarre life gets when you’re doing twelve projects at once. I like stories that feel lived-in, a little scrappy, and honest enough to matter.
I’m here to level up, meet other writers, and send out the pieces that have been waiting for their shot. If you enjoy writing with humor, warmth, and a hint of chaos, you’re in the right place.
