I check the clock again. 2:13 a.m. I’ve been staring at the same dingy scuffed floors, tired pale blue walls, and buzzing white lights since my phone died an hour ago. At this point, it’s almost meditative. Or it would be, if it weren’t burgeoning on unbearable. Pacing doesn’t help and I’m too tired for that anyway.
